Re: G0 Z0 command is correct, but when print starts nozzle is too high?

To clarify, nozzle is paper width when manually jogging to g0z0. When print initiated, its more than a paper height, but is consistent at that height a too high height.

Whats different when printing than manually moving to Z0?

G0 Z0 command is correct, but when print starts nozzle is too high?

Hey guys Rostock V2 here.

it seems my nozzle height is good but when i try and do my first layer, its several mm too high. HR is giving a nice horizontal movement, just generally too high.

Software is simplyfy 3D.

Nozzle is high when printing after calibrating Z=0 at papers width...

(Rostock V2, currently calibrating no prints done yet) Would I be correct thinking my horizontal radius needs to be adjusted to get my Z=0 back to its calibrated position when printing? I assume even tho I have my Z calibrated, When trying to print, the current Horizontal Radius setting results in l...

Re: Re calibrating... Moving to Z=0 is incredibly slow.

G0 Z10 seems to be giving me nice speed down to Z10 but for some reason the Z jog controls in Repitier Host seem to be f100*20. etc

Not sure where to adjust that setting. What is the *20 for?

Re calibrating... Moving to Z=0 is incredibly slow.

Re: Rostock V2 setep on new computer, Screen often scrambled on connect, often power shutoff ~5 mins into print.

I tried just setting up with Simplify3D, but it seems I need to install Mattercontrol so I can find my build volume and set Horizontal radius.

Screen scramble and power off issue only seems to be present when connecting to Matter control.

The 3D printers sub section of reddit.com have a discord channel up, link is https://discordapp.com/invite/0w3zG27ipjcbpPGH

If that invite expires message me and i'll update it. I think they expire after a while.

Do SeeMeCNC have a discord channel?

Would be a really easy place for people to join "rooms" relating to their machines and chat over mic's!

Re: Settings to achieve a consistant speed throughout print?

Looks like my min layer print time was making my layers all different speeds. I reduced that to 0 and now operating at a constant speed.

Anyone know what min layer times abs can handle?

I think i'll need to turn the setting back on at some point...

Hey guys, printing with ABS and it changing speeds from 20-35mm/s causes surface quality changes...

What are the relevant settings to keep a constant speed?

I force my filament through my V6 and get extruding manually when i change filaments... then extrude on matter control a couple times to prime. I notice I have response issues when i try to extrude too many times.

Our machine is designed to be upgraded, so don't upgrade? :P Adding a clause if using an upgraded cartridge system then make sure you also do X seems like a good solution, Leading hotend manufacturers use them for a reason and in the end, its up to us to make them safe. Printing small objects, hotend keeps "pausing" off target.

Hey guys, rostock v2 here, using mattercontrol software and have recently started trying ABS over my usual PLA. whenever I try and print rather small models or when I get to a small layer etc, my hotend at some point during the layer, goes off to the right side of the model a few inches, and pauses ...

Hey Mcslappy, Im still chewing through that old economy PLA, goes a lot better than that 1kg roll of grey, think I got it elsewhere, I find it cloggs the nozzle pretty easy and requires a pull out and reset. Those black arms, did you notice they seem to be different on one side than the other? Look for one fork having a weird bump different to the other side.

I did some things not sure if it mattered but your OCD will be ok after that if you have any that are odd side up.
