Re: Cant Open SeeMe CNC's DXF part drawings
Just let me know how you make out. If you are unable to do what you need, attach the files that you want converted. I'll save them as AutoCAD 2010 dwg files and attach them to a post of my own. It's funny that I have the opposite problem. I will sometimes modify an existing model that is supplied as...

Re: Cant Open SeeMe CNC's DXF part drawings
If you have trouble with Draftsight, I use AutoCAD and can save the drawing as a v10 file, but I'm not sure if it will DXF out as v10. I'm willing to try.
If PTC Creo Elements can open the AutoCAD dwg file, I can definitely help.

Re: Calibration not working
It sounds like your horizontal radius is still off a little. This is the method that I use. It's tedious, but it does work. I run a gcode file that sets the nozzle at the center of the bed at 0.2mm and I adjust the height so that the nozzle is a smidge lower than a 0.2mm feeler gauge (used for setti...

Re: Odd printing on certain items!
That is strange. From the pictures you posted, I would have guessed that the part shifted during printing. I didn't realize that slicing problems could have caused that.
I'm glad you got it working.

Re: Orion turned itself off halfway through a 4 hour print
Since changing my power supply, there is a lot more room for air circulation and the bottom now has an opening for exhausting air. Interestingly, the 40mm fan on the Rambo started acting up too. I changed that out this morning and was able to print that four hour part. I checked the temperature on t...

Re: Odd printing on certain items!
I'm not sure that I can offer much advice, but if some items print correctly and others not, I would try to determine what the common traits are of the objects that failed vs the ones that succeeded.

Re: Orion turned itself off halfway through a 4 hour print
I'm glad that you agreed because that is how I installed it :) The beast is back together and it passed the BBQ assembly test... no one got blown up and there were hardly any extra spare parts! I still have to calibrate everything again though. I had trouble getting the Rambo out, so I basically had...

Re: Orion turned itself off halfway through a 4 hour print
I would like to ask your opinion on something Eaglezsoar... I am mounting the new power supply and have an option with orientation. The stock power supply was mounted with the fan blowing up towards the build plate. I'm thinking that having it face down makes more sense because it wouldn't fight the...

Re: Orion turned itself off halfway through a 4 hour print
The dampeners sound like they may be worthwhile. I would think that the belt alignment would be off if the motor was moved though. I'll probably order a set from Astroboy as you suggested and put them in if noise becomes an issue. Thank you for the advice on the arms too. The parts I have made so fa...

Re: Orion turned itself off halfway through a 4 hour print
Thanks Eaglezsoar. I have already changed the hot end to an E3D v6. The stock one printed fine, but I do want to print nylon and more exotic materials. The noise hasn't been an issue. Maybe it will be when I grow tired of the songs it sings when it prints and perhaps I will need dampeners after all....

Orion turned itself off halfway through a 4 hour print
So there I was, printing Yoda heads and key chains when all of a sudden… silence. My PC, plugged into the same outlet was on so I knew it wasn’t a breaker. I toggled the power switch on the Orion and it fired back up. I homed the towers and let the machine cool down. As background, the Orion has had...

Re: ABS now curling, but no problems previously
Hans, Because I bought an Orion and the user manual only mentioned end stop calibration, I didn’t even know about PID tuning until I saw it mentioned in another post, after I had resolved my problem with a skirt and temperature increases. To be thorough and hopefully helpful to someone else, I chang...

Re: ABS now curling, but no problems previously
It's interesting that you ask Hans. I hadn't done one initially, but since have. The values for both the bed and nozzle were vastly different from what had been set by SeeMe, but the resulting curves looked nearly identical. I haven't tested the Orion since I changed the PID values and don't expect ...

Re: ABS now curling, but no problems previously
.. but you're a Jedi!!! I don't understand the results either. The only real change is the extrusion diameter which changed from 0.6 (from the stock 0.5 nozzle) to a 0.45 from the E3D 0.4. I had the correct values in the slicer though and my extruder feed rate is calibrated. Regardless, it's resolve...

Re: ABS now curling, but no problems previously
I was able to resolve my issue and thought I would reply to my own post in case someone else has a similar challenge. I experimented with print speed and layer height changes, but those didn't help. What worked was to increase both my extruder and bed temperatures by 10 degrees over what I had used ...

Re: ABS now curling, but no problems previously
Thank you for responding. I did actually check the bed also. It reads accurately too. It's so strange, I used to print perfect ABS prints at 230C with the bed at 90C and using hairspray. There was no chance I could pry them off the glass unless I ran hot water on it for a few minutes. I have now tes...

ABS now curling, but no problems previously
Hi, I’m new to the forum and 3D printing, but have had an Orion for a few weeks now. After tweaking everything, I was able to get very nice and precise prints, but that changed. I bought an E3D v6 hot-end and connected it with a mount that I printed. I did add some quick connects for the wiring, som...
