Re: Best Tower Rotation Setting Yet
dc42- Tried your calibration calculator. Nozzle height/leveling problems are gone! Never printed as good as it is printing now. I ran your calculator several times and each time made the suggested corrections. Since my dial indicator tilts the effector, I can't use it to make absolute adjustments- o...

Tower Rotation Study (Revised)
Hello- I too have been experiencing issues with printing at the outer radii of the bed. I read several posts on this forum and decided to do a little data gathering and post the results on this forum. Some baseline definitions, so we aren’t operating on assumptions: The “X” tower is located to the l...

Re: Tower Rotation Study 2 (Revised)
End game: ain't smart enough to reverse engineer. 1) trying to understand the effects of tower rotation in a somewhat comprehensive way and 2) provide a tool where others can analyze the performance of their RMax and make appropriate adjustments and see what those adjustments do. In short, just shar...

Tower Rotation Study - Part 2 (Revised)
I modified the script for radius=100mm so the dial indicator lifts between each reading. More accurate readings. The graph and .xls are the latest data and represent my final settings as of this writing. The Excel worksheet I used to collect data and develop the positioning statements in the script ...

Re: burnt plastic dropping into print
I had this same problem. My nozzle had loosened and melted plastic was oozing out somehow and collecting on the sides and bottom of the heater block and then dropping onto my prints (burnt plastic). I fixed the problem by unmounting my e3dv6, heating the hotend to 250C and tightening the nozzle onto...

Re: Print Quality- Adjacent Rows Not Touching
Thank you IMB for your reply- I am doing the Z-height by the manual using 24# paper (may need to go back to 20# paper). In other parts of this test print the plastic is very thin. The bed is at printing temp when I adjust height. I have done no extruder calibrations. Been running this beast for over...

Re: Print Quality- Adjacent Rows Not Touching
Checked the play in the effector. I think my belts might need tightening after all... or something loose in the carriage-arm-effector subassembly. I won't be able to check it out and make adjustments for a week or so.

Re: Taulman n-vent (Eastman Amphora)
I don't have any experience with PETG although I have heard of it. The n-vent is quite strong, has exceptional layer-to-layer bonding and doesn't warp- all these are very attractive to me after having warping and delamination issues with ABS. Both n-vent and PETG are copolyesters. That's about all I...

Shout out to astroboy907. I IM'd him earlier today. He told me how to order and pay for the dampers. My wife placed the order since I was busy. Question About Astrosyn Vibration Dampers Install
Hello- Question about Astrosyn dampers. When mounting the stepper motors in an unmodified RMax V2, the drive gears are all the way to the end of the motor shaft. When adding the dampers, which are 3/16" thick, the motor is moved away from the belt by 3/16 and there doesn't seem to be a way to c...
