Re: Help me identify this filament:-)
Mmm, the only thing I know is that it comes from a cheap Chinese supplier/manufacturer, so I guess it is not really "exotic" other than in the "cheap" way :-) It comes on a completely unmarked spool in a bag having a translucent front and a gold/silver metallic back. I've never h...

Help me identify this filament:-)
Hi all Recently I convinced my local plastic pusher to let me buy a roll of flexible filament that he didn't want to carry anyway, because he had been unable to do any sensible prints with it. He doesn't know where the filament originally came from, and now I'm trying to figure out what it is. I wou...

Nice design. I'm also interested in the design file (or rather a solid). Could you provide f.ex. a STEP file of the design?singh336 wrote:3ds max, and you should be able to import STL no ?
I can always import stl models into max and modify them as needed.. let me know
Thanks!

Re: Excessive stringing
I am sure that printing at 95 degrees will produce no strings at all, but that was a typo. It should have been 195, and I just edited my post to say that instead.

Re: Excessive stringing
I finally found the culprit causing the last bit of stringing that I've been struggling with: Z-lift, Z-hop or whatever it is called. I disabled the Z-lift (lifting the head when retracting), and ALL strings disappeared. For some reason I thought that Z-lift was invented to decrease stringing (becau...

Re: Excessive stringing
I have very little to add, except that I'm in the same boat - stringing wherever stringing could occur, and I've tried tweaking every setting in the slicers. Another factor I've been wondering about is humidity in the ambient air - I started really noticing the stringing when the weather got hot an...

Solid model of effector
Hi all
Does anybody happen to have a solid model (STEP file f.ex.) of the RMv2 effector found here: http://repables.com/r/294/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks
Hansen

Re: Mounting a JHead to the standard effector
Mmmm, I've found several JHead mounts, but I am not sure they fit the RMV2 effector. I like this because of the simplicity, but I just can't see how I would mount it (does it fit, or it is designed for another effector?): http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:253859" onclick="window.open(this.h...

Mounting a JHead to the standard effector
Hi all I just bought myself a JHead hot end, and now I am completely confused about the best mount to print for the hot end. I want it to fit the standard effector on the Rostock Mac V2. A mount for a PEEK fan (preferable matching the standard PEEK fan supplied with the printer) would be nice too. C...

In my mind movement of the bowden cable decreases the effect of retractions, so these movements can't be any good. I just ordered a pair of all-metal fittings. Hopefully, these will be better...

How do (or should) the PTC fittings work?
Hi all I noticed that I can move the bowden tube in the PTC fittings (both ends) a few millimeters back and forth. It is like the fittings do not grab the tube properly. Also, it seems it has no effect to press the plastic thingy, when the tube is to removed. Despite the "back and forth" m...

Re: Excessive stringing
I've had a few hours to troubleshoot and adjust the temperature and the extrusion multiplier, and I think it now produces the nicest top surfaces I have seen. But... I still have stringing (even at 170 degrees and 95% extrusion multiplier). I can't go any lower in temperature, and I have stringing e...

Re: Extruder is "popping" backwards.
I am quite sure this is the extruder motor skipping a step. The exact same thing happens to me, when I try to push too much material through the nozzle (flow rate > 10 mm3/s approx.).
You could try one or more of the following:
1. Increase temperature
2. Decrease speed
3. Decrease layer height.

Re: Did a search need some help OOZE
The only easy way I know of is to reduce the temperature. There are other ways like changing the nozzle, but that would go under the "not so easy" category ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: Excessive stringing
I began the procedure for determining the correct temperature, and I seemed like I could actually decrease the temperature by another 5 degrees, so... I end up with 170 degrees (163 on my display). I went ahead with determining the best extrusion multiplier, so I drew a 10x10x3 mm solid box and prin...

Re: Excessive stringing
Hi McSlappy. Thanks for your reply! 1. Find the lowest temp you can print reliably. I routinely print at 180, and it may be just that your thermistor reads low, so if you can print at 175, then go for it! Test the temp by extruding 50mm at a temp, then lowering/extruding until it starts stalling the...

Re: Heatbed to 24V Question
Hi Dirk But my 24V-Source is constant current limiting. It will hold 24V and limiting to 10Amps max constantly. Should work I guess. If your power supply really is built for permantly limiting current, then that should be OK. The thing is, though, the only way the power supply can limit the current ...

Re: Heatbed to 24V Question
Ok, so I will setup my max V2 to 24V heatbed. But I don´t want to use a SSR. I´ve read that Rambo 1.2 can handle up to 15A over the Headbed-Rail. My 24V Powersupply only delivers 10A, so it will be ok for the Rambo to handle it. Mmmm, you should remember the good old Ohm's law (V = R * I) ;) The On...

Re: Not enough power??
Having three fans providing air "against each other" is probably causing turbulence and air bouncing off of the bed/object onto the nozzle, so your layer fans are most probably cooling the nozzle. If you want to test it, move the hot nozzle close to the platform, start the fan, and try to ...
