Re: Is there a list of recommended spare parts?

I destroyed my teflon tube while learning how to deal with PLA... ultimately I installed a cold end fan and no longer ruin my teflon tubes. I ordered a small roll of the teflon tube at a better price from eBay since it can also be used to make a bowden extruder for faster printing. for PLA printing ...

Re: Hello from Canada !

Hey I'm an H1 user from Montreal.

I recommend RAMPS it's much easier. You can get cheap RAMPS kits from www.reprapdiscount.com

We have a plastic vendor in Montreal too: http://www.voxelfactory.com

Re: Help (pics incuded)

Good to hear that most people are getting good service. My first order came with missing screws, and a broken driver board. Then I had one good order for a nozzle. I just put that signature up for a few days so that the SeeMeCNC folks would finally reply to my e-mail and send me a refund... it worke...

Re: Hello All.

The only reason the pololus "aren't forgiving" is because the seemecnc guys are shipping the wrong steppers with RAMPS. It sounds like you don't know what you are doing or talking about. I have a Sanguinololu with pololu drivers and the motors supplied by SeeMeCNC folks. No problems with ...

Re: Hello All.

The CNC board gave me lots of headache, you need to apply ghetto hacks to make it work right. RAMPS was much easier, didn't have to solder any components, just wires. The RAMPS software is also way easier to configure and use than mach3. The only reason the pololus "aren't forgiving" is be...

When I had skew like that it was because my travel speed was too high and the motors were skipping when travelling.

Re: 4 Axis Board - TB6560

single motor z axis gives you the advantage of being able to manually jog both sides at the same time at the start of the print, I do this all the time to get my first layer height just right. you should wire the motors in series like they do on the reprap RAMPS setups. The z-axis doesn't need much ...

Re: New Hot end Assembly

you can coat the resistors in ultra copper so that it displaces any air inside the holes, silicone is more thermally conductive than air. My heatshrink tubing has a temperature rating of 125c printed on the side, not sure if that's the shrink point or melt point. I use heatshrink tube + solder for m...

Re: I just turned my H-1 into a $2k machine!

Your exhaust fan is too big, you're probably cooling down your chamber way more than you need. The commercial printers use around 35c chamber temperature. Here's a chamber I made with $4 of foam board from the dollar store [img]http://i.imgur.com/qgp5T.jpg[/im...

I can't confirm that you didn't see my e-mail but I do see my sent message here on the forums and you didn't reply to that either.

Can I get a refund for my indiegogo contribution? I no longer need the heated bed.

The CNC scene has been using the $155 smoothstepper device to do this for a while: http://www.warp9td.com/

Some of them are finally starting to switch to the cheaper RAMPS setup though.

a cheap and easy mod to fit the reprap heated bed in the H1

The reprap heated bed can be purchased for around $25 including shipping from ebay and other stores: http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_nkw=reprap+heat+bed&_sacat=0&_odkw=prusa+heated+bed&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 I purchased my heated bed and RAMPS kit from reprapdiscount.co...

I've been trying to get one of these boards for a few weeks with no success. When The SeemeCNC folks first got them in I posted here asking if I could preorder, with no response. As soon as they posted the boards on their indiegogo campaign I sent them the money for one and shorty after John posted ...

Really looking forward to buying one of these, just got some ABS and I can't print it without a heated bed. When will you be listing these on the site? Can I buy/reserve one in advance to ensure I get one? I would prefer a cheaper uninsured shipping option as well, a bubble envelope will definitely ...

Re: which steppers come with the RAMPS kit?

Your logic is spot on, my point is that these high torque steppers cost a few bucks more, and you can take advantage of that torque with the parallel port driver as it goes up to and above 2.5A, but on RAMPS the motors work at a reduced capacity. I believe the max of the RAMPS config is about 2A, so...

Re: which steppers come with the RAMPS kit?

From what I'm reading, RAMPS functions better with a motor in the 1-2A range, and cannot fully power the 2.5A motors. The motors run nice and cool because of this, and the stepper drivers run very hot because they have to be set pretty high to drive the 2.5A motors. Seems like the 42BYGHW609 would b...

grease your plastic bearings/gears

After a few prints the squeaking from my machine was driving me nuts. Armed with Google, I learned that the recommended lubricant for the acetal/delrin bearings is triflow: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=765399 Other lubricants may cause the delrin to swell! After greasing my gears and bel...
