I downloaded a fresh copy of arduino, my tools>board settings are Arduino/ Genuino Mega or Mega 2560. The fresh copy of arduino made the EEprom warning go away but now I am getting an avrude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): Timeout I changed the usb cord. It still gives the same results. eeprom error in firmware update
I have a max v1. I am trying to update the firmware since i have been having problems with lost steps and overheating of the y tower motor. However when i try to upload the latest firmware from the download page I get an error saying there is a problem with eeprom.cpp. I will update the exact syntax...

i am conflicted with using eeprom. I've read that (especially when levelling) you do not want to use eeprom.

I have a ver 1 max. I am tring to address the leveling screw construction on my machine. It seems that the screws do not screw perfectly straight up and down. Has anyone address this issue? Is there a mod? what I would like to do is place a longer screw in place of the ones there and make some sort ...

I'm speakung full graphic. I can't find the Viki in stock anywhere. However ( at least through amazon prime) the full graphic ones recommend marlin.
