Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetier

In the meantime, if your printer presents the known level issue you can simply do a manual leveling adjustment and move on. But I highly recommend you not go down this OpenDACT path without reading EVERY post here to see exactly what issues lurk. How does one go about that? I'm running the Dev bran...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetier

Hey guys, I just tried to use OpenDact manual calibration and it was giving me weird numbers back. It wanted me to change the Horizontal Radius to 59! I had to go back and use the javascript html page. That worked fine. I went through about 7 iterations and everything is within about 0.1-0.2mm. I wa...

Anybody using the new cheapskates with the mag arms? The holes to mount the magarm holders to the cheapskates are in the wrong places for the new cheapskates.

I can't answer those question because I don't know. I haven't taken my machine apart to straighten the towers out. Someone with more experience will have to answer those questions.

Re: massive underextrusion problems

I haven't use the tool myself. You can't do one calibration cycle and say it is even. After you change the figures you lower the hotend and check. There is no way that your machine is calibrated if you are getting uneven prints. I have all kinds of layers attached to my bed and it took me days to ge...

Re: massive underextrusion problems

I have just done the calibration and noticed that when i was working with the feeler gauge (used 0.2mm) there is so much play in the nozzle carriage, that the measurement would change between too tight and too loose on every given position if i only so much as touched the carriage. Is it normal tha...

Re: First Layer Fail?

Your bed is too cold. Kick it up in 10C increments and see what happens. I print mine at 110C. Hotend at 220C. Zen Toolworks White ABS.

You could also use an enclosure. I replied to your other post so take a look at it.

Re: First Layer Warping

I print on PEI. I also use ABS. I don't know what temps other brands require but it took me a few days to find the optimal temp. I print at 220C and the bed at 110C. I also use a shower curtain which I use with printed holders to hold it in place to make a ultra cheap but effective temperature enclo...

Re: massive underextrusion problems

That doesn't look like an extruder or hotend problem to me. It looks like slicing setting problem. I get that double layer thing when I don't set the proper loops and skin thickness. Your insides look awfully hollow. I usually use 33% fill for parts that don't need strength and upto 80% for parts th...

Re: Rostock Max Smoothieboard Tutorial

There is some weird vertical banding going on with multiple 3d printers. Few of us were trying different things trying to see if we could figure it out. I changed to 400/rev steppers and smaller pulleys to gain higher resolution. The upgrade to Smoothie, was just something else to try. I went from ...

Re: Acetone Vapor - Fail!

So I bought some transparent blue ABS and printed the fan shroud again to go with my blue trim. I then cold-vapored it in a pickle jar with some acetone. It came out absolutely beautiful and most of it was completely transparent and all the lines were gone. After three hours of waiting for it to ha...

Hey khalid can you share your slice settings? Those prints look really good. Are you actually using the compressor pump print? Or whatever those bladed things are?

I'll start with your 90.90mm suggestion and work from there for my machine. As no two are alike, but that is a good starting point. Aga...

Re: Trouble with threads

The vase was printed using vase setting in Kisslicer. The others were not 100% infill. They vary from 33% to 75%. It doesn't seem to matter. I'm curious what settings you guys use for your slicer to do threads. I'm using the stock hotend at 0.5mm nozzle. It drools a lot. I have a E3D V6 that I will ...

Ok here's the pictures. I think you guys may be right. It's over extruding on the threads. IMG_0168 small.jpg So this is a print from the same printer. No changes except to the slicer settings. The inside is just as clean as the outside. A little acetone vapor and it would look like it was injection...

Re: Trouble with threads

The most common issue when printing 100% infill, either withe the setting or just lots of perimeters as you are is over extrusion, it only has to be very slight to mess up a print. Having said that threads aren't a particularly easy print, they require a very well calibrated printer, and good cooli...

Trouble with threads

Hi guys, I am having problems printing threads (like on a bolt). It just doesn't come out right. The threads come out blobby. I'm using kisslicer. 8 loops (4mm skin), 0.2mm layer thickness, 0.5 mm nozzle. Infill set at 33% (but it never infills anyways because the loops and skin thickness takes care...

Re: Printing with ABS - A Primer

1/8 or 1/16 inch aluminum plate is plenty. 1/4 is huge and will just take more time to heat up. PEI is great for printing ABS. No need for anything else. let the bed cool down 8-10 degrees and you can just pop the part off. I really love the PEI. No residue, no mess, no cleanup. Just pop the part of...

I used them for a number of months, but ultimately went to the trick laser arms. Pros: Quick changing hot ends (if you have multiple types) Nice lines as there is virtually zero play Cons: Failed prints from effector coming off 20140507_062912.jpg I had MANY failed prints because of this.
