Re: Almost back up Still have skew Need help

Hi Tom, X axis is the most loaded one... so it is not surprise. I had once a "huge" (several inches) skew on X axis that was causes by the pulley that was slipping on the stepper motor shaft. When the motor is getting hot, the friction between the shaft and pulley was not enough to transfe...

Re: Anyone have upgrade instructions from H1 to H1.1?

Hi Until the official guide is done, here are some pictures of my interpretation of the guiding block assemblies. I hope it will help those who are stuck with all those screws ;) All guides pre-assembled: top left = X axis, top right = Z axis and bottom Y axis 20120731_025.jpg Detail of the Y axis b...

Re: G0 and G1 dwell. . .

Hi,
Very interesting finding. I have a similar problem when printing in pla but i am using linuxcnc / emc2 and slicer.
I am not 100% sure it is caused by this delay but I will try and let you know.
If this is the case, a simple script could automate that task.

Re: Fast and unexpensive tri-bearing upgrade

Hi I would just recommend to upgrade the triple bearing blocks of x axis (left+right) , yaxis (front+back) and z axis (top left+ top right). So 6 bearings in total. It is however important to upgrade both sides of x/y axis bearings as it is the only way to prevent rotation of the carriage. For me th...

Re: EMC2 Configuration for H1?

Hi, actually, EMC2's default is to display 'degrees' as units for the A axis but this is just a display setting. However, the true coordinate for the A axis of a printer must be in 'length of input filament'. So you need to choose which actual unit you will use and enter the calibration values, velo...

Re: emc2 help

The pin out is fairly different, so i have updated my initial post with what should be the correct settings... but not tested yet.

See here http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 2608#p2608

Let me know if it works and if you need to invert some direction pins

Re: Help (pics incuded)

Hi Tom, I also think that your problems are due to play in the X/Y axis linear guides. I had the same issue with my plastic bearings and could not solve it simply (outer diameter of the rollers was a tiny bit too small and I could not compensate the play with the adjustment skrew). So to solve this,...

Re: emc2 help

Ok I see more clearly what you need now. What I usually do before starting to print is: -power on all electronics + set thermostat for hot end -Launch Linuxcnc with the right config from the shortcut on the desktop -Load a gcode -press F1 then F2 to disable emergency stop and power on the motors. Yo...

Re: emc2 help

Hi Tom,

I have detailed all steps to configure emc2 for the H1 here: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=604

Following these instruction, you should get a working emc2 config and be able to generate gcode and print from linux.

Re: Connecting Parallel board to USB

Hi, Actually, even with an adapter and a Linux driver, it will fail in the end because of the random latency that such device introduces. You need to understand that in the present case, the parallel port is not used as a data bus but is a programmable pulse generator. For the cnc / printer to work,...

Re: Fast and unexpensive tri-bearing upgrade

Hi again thanks for the design: I have printed several parts with 12mm length x 6.5mm internal diameter toothed linear bearing replacement that fit perfectly ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18219 , edited the Openscad file to have 7 teeths, ID=6.5, length=12). Because of the significant play that...

Re: EMC2 Configuration for H1?

Finally, here is an update: I managed to print from EMC2 / LinuxCNC using the settings above. Everything is working well on the software / control side of things, the only changes that I have made is to set proper X,Y,Z limits. While printing my first parts, I have noticed that increasing max Z velo...

Re: EMC2 Configuration for H1?

Great, I am waiting for your feedback, and I am pretty sure that you will be printing from EMC earlier than me... delivery is so slow here, I am waiting for my filaments since 10 days and still nothing to print, grrrr ;-)

Re: Fast and unexpensive tri-bearing upgrade

Hi,

This looks great. I have also significant play with the stock plastic bearings, even when fully tightened.. so I am definetly interested in such upgrade. It would be great if you could post the stl files or cad files..

Re: EMC2 Configuration for H1?

A more direct way: If this procedure is too long for you and you want to go straight to application, just run LinuxCNC livecd , download the attached archive to your home folder and extract it there. All settings, apps and examples are included, with screenshots of the settings and so on. Enjoy and ...
