Re: Increasing Max Temperature.

Knife,

Did you ever figure out a way around not being able to adjust the temp from the LCD? I am having the same issue. I can hit 275 through Repetier Host, but trying to adjust with LCD max is still 240.

Thanks!

Re: Cat Shield and Thermal Chamber

I don't have a video right now, but can make one and post tonight if you want. The way I have it set up, the shower curtain is attached to the top and hangs down past the build plate but loose and not attached at the bottom. It is tight enough to keep drafts and critters out. It is silent when runni...

BONE, Maybe you can do something like the shower curtain mod I discussed here .. http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?p=44366#p44366" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I've been using it for a while and it works great for keeping the heat in and the kids / pets / nosy neighb...

Gcode to extrude without USB

I would like to run without any USB connection and needed to be able to extrude from SD card, so I created a couple of gcode files and am having a little bit of trouble. I used G1 E10 F120 to extrude 10mm and it works occasionally, other times the extruder never turns and every once in a while it wi...

Re: PID auto tune for ABS.

Martin, It has been a while since you posted this question and you have probably already figured it out. I don't think the PID will work for 90C as it seems to time out before reaching that temp. I print almost exclusively with ABS and haven't had a problem with the PID being ran at 60C. It still re...

*SOLVED*LCD displays "killed", cuts power to bed/hotend

I was having issues with my bed getting up to temp so installed new power supply RM750. Now when I turn the bed and hotend either through LCD or Repetier, and do anything like home the printer, it shuts power off to the heaters and displays "killed" on the LCD. The printer is basically use...

Heated bed replacement option?

I was researching other heated beds out there and came across the silicone ones. I was wondering if anyone had tried to adapt these to work with their delta. From what I've read they get up to 90C in 2 minutes. I have a Rev5 that takes 20 minutes to get to 90c and an hour to get to 110C if I throw a...

Wow, that is a sweet looking system! I had not heard of Noctua before, but I am going to use them from now on.

Re: Loud Rambo Fan? Use this!

Thanks for the link to those 5v fans, I added to cart already. I meant to ask you if you had put them in from your other post and what the results were. Glad to hear it helps! You have them set to both draw air in from outside? I was debating on that or a push/pull to pass the air through. Off topic...

Loud Rambo Fan? Use this!

I've read many complaints about the stock Rambo fan being really loud. Mine would groan and it drove me nuts. If you are looking to replace it, I recommend trying the Noctua NF-A4x10. This fan is super quiet (practically silent) and moves a lot of air. Another benefit is it has rubber mounting posts...

Re: New Heat Spreader

Nitewatchman, thanks for all the info. I did order and install the RM750 tonight. I used the 14 gauge wire and had already done so from the heated bed to the rambo during the initial build. I did a test run of the bed to 90C and timed it. I got up to about 82C before it killed, I assume due to timeo...

Re: Inexpensive Heated Chamber

I did make sure to leave it a touch loose for the cheapskates and runs completely silent. Everything is adjustable through the velcro so you can tighten/loosen as needed. I added some more velcro to the top outside so I can leave it in the open position, it's like drapes for the machine.. lol!

Inexpensive Heated Chamber

It's probably been done already, but I haven't seen one so I thought I would share my version of an inexpensive way to keep heat in the build volume. I used a thick and clear PEVA shower curtain cut to 59" x 34" and then used 2" industrial velcro to secure it to the top of the machine...

Re: New Heat Spreader

Thanks again nitewatchman! Do you use that PS for all the rambo juice or are you running two power supplies? Also I am wondering if it would be a bad idea to just use short jumpers on the rambo to go from where your 14 ga wire comes in with 12v and then use a short wire from there to the other two f...

Re: New Heat Spreader

Thanks for the detailed information. I am going to try the copper plate and PEI as well. For insulation, I am wondering if something like a solar blanket that was trimmed down and put underneath the snowflake would be enough to redirect the heat upwards? I am probably going to have to upgrade my pow...

Re: New Heat Spreader

No soap, I tore a section about 1-1/2" wide from the tape backing and after positioning the sheet on the glass and stuck the exposed adhesive to lock in the position. Then peeled the remaining paper away from the stuck side squeegeeing it as I went. I had to slit 3 or 4 small air bubbles but i...

Re: Need advice for printing difficult part

Thanks for the reply McSlappy. I received the 0.35 nozzle yesterday and sliced the model using Kiss as you suggested. I tried a few things such as rotating the model so that the slits were created by layer height instead of by nozzle width. I set it down to 50 micron layers. Everything I threw at it...

Need advice for printing difficult part

I have been contacted to print the attached .stl file and am having a hard time with it. The part has 5 200 micron slits in it and every print I have done results in the slits being closed. I am using natural white ABS and have tried both MatterSlicer and Slic3r without results. I just ordered a .35...

Captain, That gives me a whole new view of life down under,I had no idea it was so damn expensive! Of course I guess everything is relative with wages like that. I want to do this and make sure I am getting accurate readings for my hot end. Mayeb dumb questions but ,where on the hot end do you put the thermocouple? Is it a one time calibration or are you keeping it in all the time? You can jam the thermocouple up the spout like eaglezsoar has suggested, I p...

Re: LED lights for the Hotend -- Wierd Story

No, there isn't a 6V source there, but I just wired up a switch up top and used a 9V for tonight. I will probably change this to 4 AA or C cells at some point for extra run time. It is actually kind of nice to not have it on only when the hotend is on. I can use it as is, so don't worry about the re...
