Re: Field Service Bulletin Ground Wire October 2020

Is this also necessary on the Orion model? The problem we have is that the machine seems to completely shut off part way into large prints, and not always in the same place. We have replaced the power supply once (a time-consuming job) and I do not recall there being such a jumper in the original se...

Re: Orion Extruder Not Coming Up To Temperature

A follow-up on this project. I replaced the two resistors with a single heater cartridge and replaced the thermistor at the same time. I used the project as an opportunity to wire in disconnects for all the hot end electricals. All that worked very well. While I was at it, I also upgraded the arms t...

Re: Orion Extruder Not Coming Up To Temperature

You were right on the money. I didn't realize that you meant that the resistance should be about 3.4 ohms for the pair of resisters in parallel, so I clipped the leads and found that one was at 8.5 ohms, while the other was dead open. I went ahead and ordered a pair of the heater cartridges from rp_...

Orion Extruder Not Coming Up To Temperature

We've had an Orion Delta in service for over a year and it suddenly stopped reaching temperature. It comes up to around 210 degrees and then won't go any higher, so if the target temperature of the print is higher than that, the print doesn't start. The printer just sits there, with the temperature ...

X-Y shift during printing

Actually, we're having a number of issues, and since they may be related, I'll try to describe them all. First, the extruder seems to shift part way through most prints. Sometimes this happens after the first couple layers, and sometimes part way through. On at least one print, there were two cases ...

Re: Orion Delta crashing on file read

We've been using the card that came with the printer, which is a PNY SD HC 8GB card (which, interestingly, says 4GB on the label). The other card I tried was a Transcend card of the same specs, but 4GB. While neither is a Class 10 card, I doubt that is causing the problem, since taking your suggesti...

Orion Delta crashing on file read

We have an Orion Delta that is only a few months old, but suddenly we cannot load gcode files to be printed. The firmware version is 0.91. When I select a file from the SD card that has previously been printed successfully, the machine beeps three times quickly and immediately shuts off. I tried con...
