I remembered he posted a closing down message on the site, so checked the internet wayback machine and found;
Where do we buy stuff now? Well I like Jamie from http://3dprintergear.com.au/ so contact him if need any filament – he’s got the nice ABS/PLA that we sold.

Re: DIY Mill Turn Center
Even if you have built the best machine in the world it will be worthless without decent electronics and stable firmware, software \ workflow. Even if you market it at the low end $ range I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole without it. I'd be prepared to do some opensource community tinkering to i...

The Duet + expansion board would give you the axis count you need. No idea if the drivers are good enough to do what you want though, might need external drivers as well.

Re: DIY Mill Turn Center
An amazing bit of engineering you have going on here, very well thought out. I only found this thread recently but I have to say you have my attention. I know it's not a working prototype yet, but if it ends up having the work envelope, tolerances and capabilities you say it does and you can manufac...

Brian - what have you used to cover up the wires in the extrusion channels? Looks really neat and tidy.

That is crazy!! you had to go through that whole ordeal. Could I ask of you, since you have such knowledge on the subject. What would you recommend for kit cnc router, that can machine aluminium very easy as yours can. I have a good sizable budget and quite a bit of space. I would like to stay way ...

Re: If I'm lucky.
Also I have trouble setting the dial to zero, because after touching the dial the measurement is off sometimes by 0.05 because. That's a bit of a worry. You should be able to get near perfect repeatability on a bed that is temp stable. I'd be looking into that before going any further otherwise you...

Re: If I'm lucky.
It really is worth getting a cheap dial indicator off Amazon and running either manual or auto OpenDACT etc. The FSR kit is pretty cheap as well for auto calibration. Longer arms 300mm or 325mm help as well to print over the entire bed.

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
Good eye! It's a LRS-350-12. Super quiet relative to the clone I currently have, and much slimmer than what most people have been using. Comparing against the older thicker model, specs are almost identical, but rated MTB was higher for an extra $0.75 in cost. For the cost of a soda, it was well wo...

Everything appears to line up well. I will wire and test in a few days.

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
I think the issues are much much deeper than anything to do with the lasercut parts. Ask the folks who went with the max metal frame if the rigid frame has helped alleviate this problem. I still haven't gotten around to building my max metal (because I couldn't do a good enough full bed print to ma...

Also, I have read somewhere that someone from the Smoothie team wants to get the PanelDue working on Smoothie. When I install my Smoothieboard, I will miss the hell out of that panel. If no significant progress has been made on getting that supported, I might just have to do it myself. YES PLEASE! ...
