Re: Titled prints

Those pics aren't mine -someone else is having similar issues. I couldn't finish my rotation test - sometimes my job gets in the way of my obsessions :D After I get home I'll try your suggestion - print one at each tower and one in the center. I may swap the stepper motors around if the above two te...

Re: Titled prints

I also had to replace a fuse - the F3 one. That is when my issue started.

I am now switching the motor (and end stops) on the Rambo board to see if the issue "rotates".

Re: Titled prints

I'll get out my calipers and measure the movement.

I can get Z=0 all round the bed, and the screws are very close to the same height.

I'm getting about 2.5mm drift for every 37mm height.

Re: Titled prints

Hey Dan!

I read through that thread - kinda sounds like my issue. Mine seems to be in the X tower. I looked in the config, and I only see 1 place for steps\mm - I don't see a separate value for each tower.

[quote="Polygonhell"]Assuming it's actually level within you home, i.e. Check your endstop calibration. The usual culprits are, 1. Loose grub screw on the stepper pulleys screws are tight 2. Tight or binding UJoint switched to the Tricklaser carbon fiber set-up - no play here! 3. Tight or ...

I imagine you would dis-assemble your V1, then follow the V2 build instructions.

Re: Titled prints

Thanks for the replies! I checked the alignment of the towers. I have a digital inclinometer - they are all within .4 degrees of each other and the bed. I checked for belt "dust" underneath the motors - I'l have to actually look at them I guess. I re-adjusted the cheap-skates - they were a...

Titled prints

Greetings! I have been running the crap out of my V1 Max for a few months now. If I'm home, it's printing something. I had a heater core go out, and in the course of trouble-shooting I replaced the Rambo board. I am now using the original board again. After I got the new heater core in, the machine ...

Re: Failed to compile on initial startup

I got a bunch of errors on a compile once, and found out I had a setting in Ardruino wrong:

In the Arduino IDE, click Tools->Board and pick the entry marked “Arduino Mega 2560 or
Mega ADK”.

I don't know alot about these yet, but I thought it was worth a shot...

RAMBO card just homes over and over

Greetings all! I had a RAMBO card go out - I was cleaning the hot end tip with a brass brush and accidentally hit the LEDs. I got a spark, and the RAMBO blew a fuse (even though the LEDs don't go through the RAMBO - just uses the same power supply). I replaced the fuse, and when I turned it on, the ...

Re: Upgrading the stock hot end...

I just finished up the mods this weekend. I used 2 heater cores since I had two holes from the resistors. Now my hot end gets up to temp in 1 minute. It makes for a nice, clean look too. When I took the head off the system, the old thermistor just fell out of the hole: the RTV was hard. Same for the...

Re: The Cheap Skates.

I ran my end stop wires down the holes (one pair down each hole), and the other wires down the "side" channel. I used adhesive to make sure the wire ( a multi-wire cable) stuck to the inside edge. The side bearings never hit it. One tower for the extruder wires, the other for the hot end. ...

I'll figure out the width\height specs this weekend and post it here.....sometimes work gets in the way of my playing, but that's OK because I play with even cooler stuff at work!

Extending the extrusions sounds like a good idea!

REAL print area?

Greetings! I was playing with my MAX (V1) this weekend, and decided to "go for height". I made a 14" high cylinder 1 1/2" diameter. It printed it, but just barely- the limit switches were being "kissed" on the last layers. So if it gets 14" high with a 1 1/2" ...

After trying several camera, I went online and found several complaints about this problem. Bottom line: It doesn't support cameras. It would have been nice to have a wirel...

Re: USB Wi-Fi?

I have been looking for a wireless solution for a month or so now, and I finally got something that works. I bought the IOGEAR wireless 4-port USB sharing station (model GUWIP204). You have to hook the printer up to the PC directly to load the drivers, then you hook it to the wireless device and &qu...

Hey all! I just purchased a ROSTOCK MAX kit, so I figured I'd join the forum so I can use all your great ideas and advice! I am an R&D technician, and I work with lasers (ie; LASERMAN). Currently I am working on a machine used for cataract surgery. I am used to integrating motors, optics, camera...
