Another thing to add to the collection: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1695141 It's a cartridge system for spools since I disliked the wooden arm. The resistors show continuity from the terminal wires to the tinfoil on the side. That means I assembled it wrong or the resistors are bad, however unlikely.

Osiris on #reprap suggested I check the resistors for continuity against the hotend body and he was right, they were shorted out. Not just the old ones but the new ones as well. I got some new fuses, and removed the hotend and fans from the Rambo.

I suppose that's possible, but doesn;t make any sense. The hotend has been working perfectly.Polygonhell wrote:If it's blowing immediately, you have a short somewhere, most likely the Hotend wiring.

Ok, the fuse at F3 blew.
I moved the good fuse at F2 to F3 and turned the printer on, it immediately blew.
I have a wait of a week for new fuses, idea what to do so I don;t blow them?

So today I switched on my printer like I have for the longest time. And the LCD flashed on, then went dead, and stayed dead. The fan on the Power Supply keeps spinning. It also helped to replace the tube inside the hot end.

Printing the fan shroud part has helped immensely. I'm guessing the heat was creeping up the hotend. I still have the retraction high but it has not jammed recently. Also I ordered more PTFE tubing to replace the piece in the hot end for a better internal seal. (Mainly posted for the next person tha...

Testing that. I believe I increased it because I was getting a LOT of stringing as the head moved between locations.Mac The Knife wrote:try changing your retraction length to 3 mm.

Ran into Johnoly99 in #reprap that said it might be the PTFE tubing inside the hotend. Ordered some replacement, we'll see if that helps.

I have had luck dialing down the feed rate on the LCD under printer options when this would happen to me with PLA. I do not see such an option. I see a speed setting for the extruder in Repetier and it's at 130mm/mind right now. The EEPROM shows Extr. 1 max. feedrate 40 mm/s Extr. 1 start feedrate ...
