Wow I'm impressed it pulled up when it doesn't look like such a large surface area... In multiple places too?
I just assumed it was a freak occurrence when mine did this a year or so ago, but if anyone has some better advice on this I'd love to hear it too!

Re: Printing with Polycarbonate
Is it pure Polycarb or PC/ABS blend? I'm not experienced with pure, but based on the blend you should have: - an enclosure. It's like ABS on steroids. See 3rd point. - at least 270º to bond well enough. - FAST. If PC cools much it won't bond to itself. You may have to sacrifice quality to get the sp...

Re: Filament Issues
You can get the extruder motor to turn but it won't extrude filament? I'm not 100% sure if that's what you're saying. If the motor does turn but the filament won't move, check: - tip of filament isn't catching on internals of hot end. Re-trim it. - nozzle isn't blocked by something. turn it up and t...

Re: What's going on with this?
Well some more testing and such did improve that wobble. The 30% overlap seemed to help the most. As good as I got it, the difference between it and what Kiss would produce is still too great for me to use it full time. Actually kind of disappointed. I'll keep playing with it, but Kiss is just consi...

Re: 3/15/2015 - new KISS beta 2.20 on Dropbox
Well thank anyway... Just bought S3D but Kiss does a far better job than any other slicer I've used... My only hesitation in purchasing it is that seemingly sporadic development. I should just buy it to encourage the guy - this beta is really nice and fixed my issues with it.

Cleaned up the internals of my V1
I wanted to do this when I built my machine, but got distracted printing for some reason.... Anyway a faulty switch (or worn out more likely) caused my PSU to blow up so I took it as a chance to replace it and heated the interior while I was at it. Here's the results. Re: What's going on with this?
Increase your outline overlap, I've had to do this quite a bit with S3D. Something like 30%, I think. I bought S3D after this newest release, and while I'm still wowed by its feature list, I'm not thrilled with its out of the box print quality. I've had to do quite a bit of tweaking, and still use ...

What's going on with this?
Been using Kiss for a long time but have recently decided to bite the S3D bullet since I'd like to just have 1 piece of software to run all 3 machines... Anyway I've had some weird issues - see pic. Left is s3d, right is Kiss. Both using similar settings Kis...

Re: Issues with EZStruder
Good call on removing the cover - it's easier without it. After an hour of printing check the temp of the hobbed gear. It should be warm to touch but NOT hot. I've seen a faulty stepper cause overheating on the hobbed gear and turned the filament soft before even getting into bowden tube. Replacing ...

That's a world class fail there. I'd just get a new hot-end and keep that on the wall. Yes you could recover it, but it's art now!

Re: Injection Molded Cheapskate Carriages Upgrade
For new builders, not having to do the adjustment dance is worth it all by itself. The new design also makes installing the belts nearly painless. Check out the new manual - they ARE a lot better all around. I'm hoping someone will put LEDs in them that will blink in a pattern that's in sync with t...

Re: Need Advice On A Few Issues
PLA is my favorite filament for printing, but one of my least for hot-end issues. The best and most consistent solution I've found is adding a drop of Canola oil (or sesame) to the filament when loading it. Seems to last over 10 hours and makes PLA print flawlessly. No need to mod the nozzles - the ...

Re: The cheapest (usable) filament option for Australia?
I think the cheapest way to get ok quality filament would be as others have mentioned by buying a filastruder or filabot or whatever and making it yourself, I think you can get it as cheap as $5 a kilo then for decent plastic. I've got kilos of failed prints.. I know a Filabot is on the cards for o...

Nah that's cool! I guess it would fall into the BAADER-MEINHOF phenomenon of noticing something more often after you've become familiar with it... No, didn't think to check the gcode bed setting. The LCD displays the correct temp though.

Re: Did I blow up my RAMBo?
Um... Forget the LED. It works... I absent-mindedly looked at the front edge for the lit light but on the V1 it's just below the rear of the bed and I didn't take notice. So yeah it works. .... OK. So I pulled it apart unplugged bed and thermistor, looked around for issues. Still nothing obvious. I ...

Did I blow up my RAMBo?
I built a ghetto enclosure for printing a large ABS print on my Rostock v1. It was simply a cardboard tube that surrounded the whole machine including the base. It had plenty of rooms for the arms and it maintained an internal temp between 37-40º with the bed at 110º. Everything seemed to run fine a...

Forming a 'buying war party' would be the best bet to get cheap usable filament. Sounds like there should be a google group for this or something.
