Re: Arms repalcement - best option ?
Thank you Geneb. I was expecting this reply somehow.
Well, I suppose my wife won't be happy...
Geneb, by the way, If I follow your advice, shall I also replace the platform, or could I keep my old one ?

Arms repalcement - best option ?
Hello, I own a modified V1. One of the modifications was for the CF arms from TrickLaser. I have the old gen, with rubber band and traxxas balls. One of my Traxxas rotule has some play, and I bought a bag of 10 for replacing it. However, I do wonder, considering I have the original V1 cheapstakes Wh...

Re: Watch Winder (could use some expertise on code)
What do you mean "some issues" ? I don't want to open your code if I don't know what I'm looking for... Did you deal with rebounds ? some rotary encoders bounce alot. Last time I used one, I had to add a low pass filter (capapacitor and resistor) to kill them rebounds before entering the a...

Re: Sudden Layer Shift
I believe your belt slipped on the X tower.
Probably your hot end encountered more resistance than usual in one spot (maybe due to the lifting of your printed part) and the x belt slipped by one tooth or the motor skipped some steps.

Good !
I would have been curious to see new features, but I will be completely satisfied with a well proven design.

Duet Ethernet is coming
Seems like the ethernet version of the duet is coming soon (end of month or beginning of April).
I can't wait ! Lack of Ethernet is what actually kept me from buying the DuetWifi.
I wonder if the new board will also improve in some other aspects ?

Re: Simple Question
the PTFE is the one in the top of your second pic... ? I did dont read much about HE280, so I'm not sure, but I reckon it is a PTFE sleeving, that should be shorten to the right length... Anyway, Just to make sure, measure the outter section of the clear tube at the top of your last pic... it should...

Re: I could use some purchase advice/help.
Hey Edwii, What I could say after everyone has given his point of view, is that whether you keep Rambo or take Duet from the begining depends on your skills to understand technical things. I understand you are new to 3D printing. So was I when I bought my RMax V1 in 2013. I started with a delta, and...

Rambo Cool Project ?
I am thinking about taking the leap to the duet. Before I do so, I'm trying to see where my beloved Rambo will end up. Sell it back ? Boring. Keeping it in a drawer ? Worse. Make another printer ? 1 is enough to me. Maybe a plotter, a laser cutter, or ... ? Do you guys have any idea ? Any link to sh...

Re: OctoPrint plugin...
Until now, I used the opendact tool. It is not perfect, very buggy, but it does the job, and it does calculate tower rotation and more. I'm trying to get this pluggin to work, because I use Octopi, and I don't want to keep changing USB from pi to PC and then back. (And because the community says it'...

Re: OctoPrint plugin...
Just take a look at the JavaScript source code. The bit you're after is currently looking for "PROBE-ZOFFSET" - just change this to deal with whatever your firmware outputs when the z hit happens. I don't know how "normal" Repetier behaves. The only printers I have FSRs on are e...

Re: OctoPrint plugin...
Gene, I know you as THE "manual guy", and I recognize your talent in writting up documentation. Would you mind giving basic architecture/design description for this pluggin ? It would really help me to try porting this for FSR setup on my V1.... whenever I have time for it. (man, so many p...

My googleing did not return anything interresting.
The Octopriny pluggins seach neither.
Can you please share a link ? I'm also eager to give this a try with my FSR setup.

Re: Bed STL Model
So, as I see it, it is just for display.... you could actually load the STL of the entire printer, as long as the build plate center is at (0, 0, 0).. Am I right ?

Bed STL Model
Hi all, KisSlicer's manual says it's better to use a STL file for the bed shape... but it does not say what to draw in the STL file. Can anyone share his/hers, or tell me what to draw ? Is it just a flat round ? cylinder ? Does it show the 3 columns ? How to tell KisSlicer what surface to print onto...
Re: GPIO
I also used GPIOs on RPI2, and added corresponding controls in Octoprint, in order to turn on/off both the printer and the lights in my enclosure, directly from octoprint interface. Difference is that in order to turn on/off the printer, my relay is connected to the very same wire as the on/off swit...
