Re: Wat. Happened.
I'm pretty sure if the thermister disconnected during the print it registers as 0, the firmware will catch that because the thermister value goes below the low threshold (meaning it registers a temperature far lower than room temperature, which is roughly around 25 depending on your room temp) and s...

Re: Effector Platform rod/u-joint fusing
Happened to me as well. Had to hammer the joint off the rod, then clean the gunk off. I believe part of my problem was that I was using hairspray and maybe some of it got into the joint.

Re: ~$2000 gamble....
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say you're gambling an entire 2k... Sure, the whole thing could be worth that... but a simple drop to the floor probably won't do THAT much damage.
Still, nice way to mount it though.

I'm partial to the Canned Peaches Needle Nose method myself. Of course, only the highest quality canned peaches will do.

Are you using a layer fan while printing in ABS? For PLA you want a layer fan, but ABS causes problems if it cools down too quickly.

Re: Help!!
and how did you fix it ? Well, aside from getting the printer really well calibrated, I basically solved the rest of my problems by upgrading my extruder. I went with an E3D for my rmax mainly because it was highly recommended, and it also comes bowden ready. I also own a few MakerGear hotends whic...

so why did it happen at the same place every time ? that doesn't make sense, if the problem is in the extruder it have to be random problem I'm not entirely sure why, but it's not that unusual. The jam can also happen due to actual printer movements at certain areas. For example, a particular spot ...

Re: Help!!
If you want to use Slic3r again to slice it, try setting the layer height to an oddball number so if you were using a height of 2mm change it to 2.05 and slice again. You are running into the "Repetier bug" and so far as I know there is no fix except things like the above, etc. He stated ...

Re: Rambo and/or EZstruder stepper overheating?
Are you sure it has anything to do with the temperature, and not because you have a jam in your nozzle? Sometimes dirt can get into the nozzle (usually because it was on the filament and not properly brushed off), this can jam if the dirt builds up and is unable to pass through the nozzle. EDIT: Als...

Re: Thermistor inputs aren't working
I suppose it might depend on how recently you bought them... The ones that came with my rmax kit (as of about 3 months ago) were type 8: ATC Semitec 104GT-2, and the ones I got from my E3D kit were also the same. As far as I've seen, type 1's were common a while ago but now type 8's are what I see e...

Re: Do I have a defective build plate?
This same thing happened to me as well. It's actually pretty common with composite glass like these. I just flipped my glass over and started printing on the other side which is still flat. I think what happens is that there is a micro pocket in that area that is imperfect, and the constant heating ...

Do you change #define X_MAX_LENGTH #define Y_MAX_LENGTH #define Z_MAX_LENGTH to raise or lower the height? yes, although, I change the ones that are in the EEPROM, not the firmware. Also there is the height value in the printer settings under the dimensions tab that should be changed to match. In m...

Re: Thermistor inputs aren't working
Sounds very much to me like your firmware is configured for the wrong thermister types. Every type of thermister has their own table of resistance to temperature values, a wrong table assigned to a thermister will end up showing the wrong temperature values. Are your thermisters both the same exact ...

Re: once perfect flat calibrated NOT NOW??
It is, indeed, challenging to get the printer perfectly level. If everything was perfect before, and the towers were already calibrated before, when you change your nozzle all you should need to change is the printer height dimension (and axis lengths to match); You should not need to change any of ...

I actually found an alternative push fit connector that works similar to the E3D one, except it fits the size of the SMC kind. I too didn't want to drill and tap a new size I ordered it from here http://www.tridprinting.com/Hot-Ends/#3D-Printer-Push-Fit-Fitting" onclick="window.open(this.h...

Re: Broken bowden mount
I've had about 6 of these break on me so far, but not since I replaced my extruder. For some reason, the stock extruder requires a lot more filament pressure/force to print, and that constant pressure causes those teeth to tear right out eventually.

Re: PEEK Fan wont stop running??!
Well... as far as your description goes, nothing should be wrong and it should all be working fine. However, since it isn't, all I can say is it must be a wiring issue. Do your LED's work as they should? If I were there, troubleshooting the issue, the first thing I would do is trace all of the wirin...

Re: Infil looks bad, all prints bad what happened?
I am happy this issue was solved, but I am very curious as of what it is that you look for to know it's a filliment dia issue? What you're actually supposed to do is use some calipers and measure the thickness of your filament, then use that value. Depending on the manufacturer etc, you're filament...

By default, if you are using the stock belt and pulleys that came with the kit, the E-steps of each axis is 80. I found that to be pretty accurate so I didn't change it.

Re: Issue While Printing? Rostock Blues
When you say the print is too small, how small do you mean? Is it like half the size of a nickel, or does the nickel just barely not fit? It also looks like your very first layer is smashed more than it should be. If it's the first case, then most likely the E-steps of your axes are off. If it's the...

Re: 400 Steps for a direct drive extruder
It is my understanding that people use the 200 rather than the 400 for direct drive extruders because it provides more torque. If you aren't going to use a wades gear to convert distance into torque, then your motor needs to have enough torque by itself. Also, I doubt that you would be able to see a...

Re: Hot End Issues
From the log message in your picture, it looks clear that it is a loose connection on your nozzle thermister. It says the temperature had a reading of 0, which is the reading you get when you have no thermister attached. When the firmware catches a 0 reading at any time, even if it is for a split se...

Re: Clogged Hot End?
So, you hadn't really mentioned this at all, and no replies seem to be mentioning it either, but... Are you sure your problem isn't that the cold end drive gear just dug a big groove in your filament? have you actually pulled the filament out of the extruder completely and inspected the filament yet...
