What a difference 2 hrs in the oven makes.

Walls came out 0.66mm vs the requested 0.6mm. I might try baking more tomorrow to get rid of the last few bumps.

Yeah, it's from Rainbot. I was going to send it back, but maybe I fixed it in the oven.

I seem to have this problem still with popping filament and it seems more prevalent after retractions. Dialing down the temperature helps but I think the retraction is the root cause of my popping filament issue here. It pops more often after retractions. I'm guessing that the retraction is causing air an pocket in the filament path which causes the popping and gaps in print.

I'm wondering what your settings are for retraction? Do you guys have any thoughts on this? i'm still using the stock seemecnc setup.. with the exception of the eztruder. everything else is still stock.

I picked up a couple of spools of ABS filament from a local matterhackers location, and I'm watching it lay out layers of plastic and here's what I'm seeing:
- small air pockets or vapor pockets that collapse as a line is laid down
- small puffs of smoke or water vapor as it prints
- pits in the print starting at a new line
- no popping sounds

It did not happen with previous Octave spools, so I'm throwing the spools in the oven at 185F for a couple of hours and let's see what happens.

I did seem to settle on some rather agressive destring and retraction speeds.

I keep going back to 10 prime, 10 suck, 0 wipe @ 120mm/s. It's hard on the bowden connectors, but anything else results in a fat seam or boogers as the print head switches positions.

Try dropping the hot end temp by 5 degrees at a time and free-air extrude it. Repeat until the popping stops.

( warning though, your temps will vary depending on how you have yours calibrated) just keep lowering your temps till that popping goes away. just dont lower it too much.

How low is too low for PLA? I've been having this problem with my hatchbox, not moisture cause even my fresh roll has it. I'm down to 180° and as it's coming around the perimeter i can hear a mushy pop sound and of course a little hole left behind... It's not terrible or even too noticable but still my prints are only hindered by that

I'm wondering the same thing but for titan extruder and prometheus hotend. Brian said not to go past 5mm retraction and 20mm/sec retraction speed. Idk
