Welcoming CreativeMachines to the crew

Post by johnoly99 »

Just want to let everyone know, we finally found a way to help get the cost of shipping to Europe down, and help another 3D printer parts company expand too! Take a minute, if you see him on here, and say hey.

As anyone who's seen scale pics or one in person can tell you, the MAX is a HUGE machine when it comes to 3D printers! Although it's packed full of 42" of awesomeness, apparently our boys in brown and the USPS don't think it's awesome enough to ship for a decent rate :? We have now come up with a game plan to get around that! CreativeMachines, located in the UK, will be receiving the Parts/Hardware, electronics, and all the CNC machined and injection molded parts from US, and will then locally lasercut the large sheets and T Slot aluminum extrusions. by not having to ship those large pieces, anyone in and around the EU should be able to get a Rostock MAX kit through CreativeMachines and have around 25 euro or less shipping! Holy Cow! It's been running around $180 USD for UK, Ireland, Russia etc..., so that's a huge savings for the customers, and at the same time, CreativeMachines will be able to grow as well.

We really look forward to using this venture as a model for how we as a little shop with an awesome product, can get it in the hands of the people who want it, for an affordable price. There are a few more countries we are looking into finding similar small shops that can take advantage of a lasercutter and some local resources to grow.

Thanks guys,
Creative Machines

Seeing as I live in the UK thought I'd check these guys out. Seems they are no longer supplying the Rostock Max :(

baristaa wrote:Why are 3D printers so popular? Honestly the idea is not new. We've been laser cutting, designing, and having machines assemble, mold, and melt things for a long time. We have machines that will cut a precise part out of a piece of steel with ease.
The main reason why they're getting popular now is that machines are getting more precise, user friendly, and less expensive compared to previous prices. The machines that you are talking about, Injection Molding/CNC, are very costly to produce one part. Creating an injection mold for one part is not only wasteful, but the price is absurd. CNC machines have less tooling cost, however purchasing a precision machine would cost thousands if not tens of thousands depending on what you're machining. All of SeeMeCNC's products are <$1,500 and are fantastic for creating a small quantity of parts or prototypes. Yes, we're not at the point where a 3D Printed part is as good as an injection molded part, but the technology is still being developed every single day and will get there eventually.

Yeah, I saw no relation either. However there was a yahoo answers thread (https://answers.yahoo.com/question/inde ... 055AAKE1vx) that had the exact same wording, maybe the poster didn't get the answer they were looking for and wanted help. I'm hopeful :)
