Rostock Max OpenPnp Conversion

Post by gestalt73 » Sun Jun 04, 2017 12:22 am

For anyone interested, I've published my design for a conversion kit for anyone who wants their Rostock to work part time as a Pick and Place machine.

The way I have everything set up, you can have both your hot end and the pnp head plugged into the board at the same time, and just swap them out as needed.
The pnp head needs a stepper plug, heater2plug, 2 pwm fan plugs, and one always on fan plug.

I couldn't find the specs on the stock rostock effector, but it wouldn't be hard at all to adapt to the stock setup. Or just drill a couple of holes through the adapter plate.

This leverages the excellent work of the OpenPnp guys to provide a low cost, low volume pick and place adapter.

Very cool! I've got an old T-Tech Quick Circuit that I am converting for engraving, solder paste application, and PNP using Cirqoid parts.
