calibration without LCD

Post by whaleboy »

I'm going through the manual and am at the calibration step (page 205). This seems to be the only step that uses the LCD controls. I can move the head using the Rep host software, but can't find how to do the step that requires "Set New Z=0.00" from the LCD.

Is it as simple as entering in that line as a command?

Thanks

Solved. Made the appropriate LCD cables from an old drive cable. I now have a working LCD and am currently calibrating.

I have to refresh the question, because it seems that I will not find very fast a solution for my LCD problem.

So how can I do that with repetier, setting the z : 0.00mm zero point without the LCD?

Thank you in advance. Christoph.

to set z=0 with repetier host, you want to home the machine, then jog the nozzle down to the bed (very slowly when you get close) and just as the nozzle is about to tap the glass, send M251 S2 to the printer, and that will set z=0.. then home again, and you can run a G1 Z5 F15000 and that should drop it down 5mm above the bed to verify.

ah, if thats the case, open eeprom, and set max Z to a larger number to allow it to go down, just be careful and jog it manually down after you do that...
