Re: Broke my hot end tonight...

Post some pics of those so I can see how you did it. Here are some pics of the photo-interrupter endstops. They are old (~3 weeks old) but the endstops are in the same location and look the same. Filament spool attched to H-1

I finally got tired of the old PVC pipe holder for the filament spool. The PVC pipe caused too much friction and was always in the way/taking up too much room. In the pictures attached I printed out four parts (two of each) and added extra threaded rod/nuts and in no time I had a great setup to hold...

Re: Avatar 6 KiB?

Hey John, Can you up the avatar KiB limit? It is set to 2000 Bytes. I have had problems in the past thinking I was setting it to 2000 KiB, but it was just 2000 Bytes. You can change the value under ACP, left panel 'Board Configurations' and then 'Avatar Settings'. I usually up it to around 100000 By...

Re: Broke my hot end tonight...

Ouch! I know that if I didn't have endstops I would have done the exact same thing and my neighbors would have found out that I swear like a sailor!

Very nice Dave!

Can you post the STL file for the cube?

Thanks,

Re: Resistors and fitting Hot End

I can't find the name of the product used, but I think a ceramic paste could be what you are looking for.
Here is an extruder being 'assembled' with ceramic paste as a housing for nichrome wire.

Ultimachine Spool Spacer

After constantly having to be there to make sure the filament was feeding and not catching because the 5lb spool was too heavy; I decided to print a couple of Ultimachine Spool Spacers. The spacer uses a 608 bearing, if you upgraded your H-1 idlers, you probably have a few extra lying around. I have...

Re: Wire guage?

I have a wire stripper with different sized spaces on it. I just use the 22AWG spot.

Re: Wire guage?

cat5 is more then plenty, every wire from a stepper has a twisted pair. At 1.5A per coil at 12v, ~20Watts, 24AWG will work.

Re: extruder randomly clicks like its stuck

I had a similar problem where I would get a click or pop from the extruder feed sprockets. I though I had it built incorrectly, but I found that the lettering on the larger gears were catching, I lightly sanded the surfaces and the problem went away. One thing I noticed is that when I speed up the e...

Re: Idler bearings?

R4A 2RS 1/4" X 3/4" X 9/32" E-bay 10@$13.75 shipped, not bad. m I have them installed on my X and Y axis, I found that I need 10x32 (I think that's the size) washers on the outside so that I give the center race some thickness so that it doesn't bind or rub against the plastic washers...

Sanguinololu 1.3a Repetier firmware/host settings

Hey all, Here are screen caps of my slic3r and Repetier host (printer) settings. Below is a link to the Repetier fimware Configuration.h file that I use. So far the print quality is getting near perfect, still have to work out some tweaks to slic3r and the heated bed temperature. SeeMeCNC_H-1_Slic3r...

Print quality is just about perfect -- w00t!!

I think I have slic3r and Repetier firmware/host tuned in to almost perfect values.

Here is my latest print (kinda geeky )

RAMPS/Sanguinololu/... 150W power supply - vendor $14

Hey all you Arduino users,

I found the following 150W power supply to work like a champ and for the price $14, can't beat it!
The power supply output can be adjusted between 11 and 15volts.

It's running my Sanguinololu with 4 pololu drivers, Steve's extruder and a nichrome heated print bed!

Re: My heated bed Mod

Hey Dave,

Why all the holes? Will the heated pad be enough to heat the entire bed evenly?
And, where do you get aluminum plate that thick? The LHS don't have much selection, just 1/16" . . .
