Re: P003A HE280 [Solved?] Auto Leveling Issue/Bed Leveling Issue/Calibration

Thanks Tim, this is an odd one. I have had mini calibrate perfectly some times but the vast majority I get the low spot between X and Z. The fact that it is so systematic for a number of us leads me to believe a solution will be found. I've not had a chance to do more probing today to test the ferr...

Re: P003A HE280 [Solved?] Auto Leveling Issue/Bed Leveling Issue/Calibration

Add me to the list of new V3 owners that has the same auto-calibration issues I am reading about, extruder too close to the heated between X-Z. I submitted a ticket to see if support has any ideas. It is a huge disappointment.

Ended up the error said the bed sensor was defective so I checked it with an ohm meter and reseated the bed thermistor connection to the Rambo. Problem solved- for now.

Re: AstroPrint? Octoprint? Other?

Running Octoprint and love it. I pre-slice so I haven't used the integrated Cura engine much. Haven't tried any others options. Thank you- I loaded Octopi and have it up and running. I have only been able to run the calibration script g-code as I get an error when I try to run G-code generated from...

AstroPrint? Octoprint? Other?

Anyone running AstroPrint on a Raspberry Pi connected to a V3? I am trying to decide what to load on the Pi. Pros - Cons insights please.

Thank you,

Re: Rostock Max v3 calibrating script.

Once the V3 is calibrated if you want to manually tweak the Z-height just above the heated bed what would you use for Gcode? Gcode of M114 shows the current values of X,Y,Z, mine are all set to 0.0. On other printers I would simply enter a value using M212 for Z, either positive or negative, and the...

Re: While tweaking my V3, I managed to jam it all up

Retraction setting changes can cause the issues you are describing. I made changes to my my V3 and lost track of what I changed so I went to MatterHacker and added my printer again with a new name and that will load all the default settings so you can at least start from a known starting point. Best...

Re: Control/Slicing software survey and help

Thanks for the tips- minimum layer times seem to be the culprit. Now to work on other settings for print quality-which is terrible at this point.

Cheers!!!

Control/Slicing software survey and help

I just finished my printer yesterday, finally, and loaded up a file that I can print in 10 minutes on my home brew Cartesian printer using Cura. I loaded the part using Matter Control and print time is 37 minutes. I adjusted the speed settings upwards compared to settings used in Cura and print time...

Re: Rostock MAX v3...

I am not having fun trying to get the 26awg wires into the 8 pin connector way back in the beginning of the build. The green wire pulled out leaving some wire strands in the spring clip. I may tin the leads on the 26awg wires to make them more stiff. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks,

Re: Rostock MAX v3...

I got my machine today and the package looked a little beat up with lots of melamine bits floating around although I assume they are not needed. There could have been more done on the inside to protect the contents. Hope everything is ok. I took pictures as part of documenting the build from start t...

Re: E3D V6 printing problems

I use a E3d v6 on my Catesian printer and keep the fan down low on the aluminum heat sink barrel. Maybe give that a try? The fan needs to be operating well and the entire time the hot end heats up and cools down. Another tip I read intimated that each filament has a extrusion temperature guideline h...

Re: Rostock MAX v3...

I ordered a kit the first day they showed up on the website and was under the impression shipping would commence on the 6th however the wording leads me to believe it will be after the sixth which I am sure gives them a little buffer if things are not quite ready. If anyone can provide an update we ...

Gene will an aluminum plate be recommended under the glass plate to more evenly heat the glass plate? I have heard folks call it a heat spreader.
