Have you tried reducing the extrusion temperature to control the stringing?

Re: Duet 8.5 Groundwire overheating

Looks like the screw terminal because loose. This happens when you put high current stranded core wires into a terminal block without crimping ferrules on the wires first (that's why ferrules are supplied with Duet WiFi and Duet Ethernet boards). You can usually get away with it if you re-tighten th...

Re: E3d v6 thermister settings for duet?

According to E3D the thermistor parameters are unchanged between the old and the new types.

Note that it's not just the B value that you need to set, it's important to use matching B and C values in the M305 command.

Re: Cura 3.1

The lines that extrude 0.15m also have about 3mm of X or Y movement, much more than the other lines, so more filament needs to be extruded in them. When you select RepRap flavour GCode, Cura defaults to relative extrusion, which is what RepRapFirmware prefers. So use it if you have Duet electronics....

Re: E3d v6 thermister settings for duet?

The settings for RepRapFirmware are given in the V6 installation instructions on E3D's wiki site. Don't assume that your previous electronics/firmware combination gave accurate readings, or that the temperature difference between the nozzle and the thermistor is exactly the same as it was before you...

Re: 32 bit controller recommendations

Oh, so not so helpful. Thanks for the info! I'll stick with the removable type boards. Has anyone tried them on a delta? How well did the anti-stall work? Thanks again! My comments on stall detection and deltas are not specific the the Duets. The TMC2130 drivers use exactly the same StallGuard2 fea...

Re: Looking for auto-leveling recommendations for my Metal Max

Another possibility is to swap out your effector and arms for the Smart Effector and magnetic arms (see https://www.duet3d.com/DuetAddons/DeltaSmartEffector) but that's probably overkill if you are happy with the existing arms, effector and hot end.

Re: 32 bit controller recommendations

The Duet WiFi and Duet Ethernet already support stall detection, see m. However, it is of limited use on a delta printer, because motors don't produce enough back emf at low speeds for stalls to be detected. On delta printers some of the carriages move very slowly some of the time, and even reverse ...

Re: Big default "baby steps" - Duet

The Z baby stepping feature in Duet is set to .05mm+/- which seems to be a big default baby step for my purposes(a). I would like to have .01 or .02 baby steps. Where can that parameter be tuned? 0. I presume you are doing baby stepping in the web interface. Go to Settings -> User Interface and cha...

You can also run the Duet WiFi in access point mode, without a router. That's about as simple as it gets! Needs firmware 1.20 or later, and of course a smartphone/tablet/laptop/PC with WiFi.

AOK now.

There should be a positive click when the SD card is seated properly, then to get it out you have to push it again.

Re: No joy with browser connection

The TCP/IP stack used is lwip, version 1.4.1 in DuetWiFiServer 1.20 and earlier, and version 2.01 in DuetWiFiServer 1.20+1. AFAIK it has no problems with zeros in the IP address. However, we did hear a rumour that the patch from Expressiv to fix the KRACK vulnerability in WPA2 caused issues with use...

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate

I don't understand why you have commented out the M558 command. If you are using Z probing at all then you must have it to tell the firmware the characteristics of your Z probe. To get the first layer height just right: 1. Most users of delta printers with Duet electronics run auto calibration after...

I forgot, I changed the name in the report. It's this:

WiFi signal strength -47dBm

That's quite good, so I am surprised you are having connection difficulties. You may find https://duet3d.com/wiki/WiFi_disconnect ... out_errors helpful.

Re: First homing: horrible grinding sounds

Looking around for pressure advance, looks like a duet setting... I'll look into it. I've tried 3.5-12mm retraction, stuck to 6.5 25-60mm/s retraction speed, right now it's at 25 since that's what the profile has. I upped the travel speed from 100 to 400mm/s and that seemed to do the most at reduci...

I noticed when I powered up near the stepper motors there were three/four red leds lit. The Extruder stepper did not have a red light. I swapped cables and still no red light. Re: First homing: horrible grinding sounds

What retraction settings are you using, and how long is the Bowden tube? Are you using pressure advance?

On my delta I print PLA at 205C first layer, 200C or 195C after that; but that is with an E3Dv6 hot end.

Re: How to calibrate extruder? Different settings for every filament?

I leave the extruder steps/mm and the slicer extrusion factor alone. When I start a new roll of filament, I do a test print and adjust the extrusion factor on-the-fly until I find a setting that gives neither under nor over extrusion. Then I use that setting for the rest of that roll. It's normally ...
