Re: Rostock Max v2 Shuts Down While Moving In Z Axis Directi

I think the adjustment of z is supposed to work that way. Turn the dial fast and it skips ahead. Turn it slow and deliberately, and it moves in single increments.

Awesome..will have to give this a go on my new smoothie build. I was planning to mount a zprobe off to the side of the platform but after lots of reading I'm now not so sure.

I agree with Pilot. Feel free to add a hole/slot on mine...will save me from destroying the frame trying to do it myself....lol

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build

I currently use something very similar to this for spool holding.

It's smooth as butter with the 608 bearings. I'll probably do the same when my shiny new frame arrives.

I was thinking the same. Slightly taller towers with a bit of over hang and you could reuse the stock base and top pieces.

Re: Operation "stick to the damn glass ya bastard!" (AU)

UHU glue stick for ABS works wonderfully and a bit of hot water cleans it off the plate in seconds. Don't make the mistake of using for PLA....unless you want the part welded to the build plate....lol

I use 3M blue painters tape for PLA, never have any problems.

Do you have quick change connections? Hope you didn't try plugging them in with the power on? or probably a short somewhere. Recheck all your wiring connections.

Australian Filament Suppliers

Hey all, Just curious who the Aussies purchase their filament from. I got my first ever batch from BilbyCNC, which turned up eventually.... I'm getting close to running out and I'm looking for someone else to try. 3dprintergear.com.au have 20% off at the moment so might give them a go.... also modfa...

Slappy...I'd be very careful posting images of you printing anything that even looks like a firearm if you are in Oz. Even plastic replica's maybe considered an offensive weapon even if they don't fire a projectile, especially a handgun.

It doesn't heat up as fast as the nozzle but my V3 bed works fine - I could boil the kettle on it if I wanted!!
