Looks like it could be interesting. I didn't see any mention of a successful auto-calibration in that thread besides the code author.

I'll have to keep that thread bookmarked. If anyone tries this firmware and has success, let me know as I'm still here!

Re: Printing speeds

The search works! Awesome! For me, no significant changes. I moved my machine to a different table and used some clamps to hold it down. My speeds are still "high," but more refined. With experience I've been able to recognize the detail-level of a part and choose an appropriate slic3r pro...

Re: Auto Level - Auto Calibration Talk

apparently the new Repetier has G29 Auto-Level for Delta, the instructions are on their site anyway for Delta machines. Has anyone experimented with that? The section about Z-Probing on the main Repetier website ( http://www.repetier.com/documentation/repetier-firmware/z-probing/ ) has been there f...

I certainly don't reject the idea of contributing...let's just say that there are one or two things on my list before I would get to that.

Re: Auto Level - Auto Calibration Talk

Hey 626pilot, thanks for the detailed responses here. I finally read everything you've referenced here and elsewhere and, as I'm certain you felt the same, was disappointed to see the results of the revised Repetier leveling functions. I haven't seen much discussion any other place, so we'll have to...

Are you talking about the yet-to-be-released EZ Probe: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=2445&hilit=EZProbe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ? I don't see why not. Again, all you need is a switching device at a known location relative to the tip of the nozzle to co...

Re: TO shim or NOT TO shim

You shouldn't need to change anything other than possibly some new Configuration.h parameters. These are things like the X,Y,Z offsets for the probe and possibly what pin it is connected to. There might be a couple of others, but if you were able to configure your machine to this point, it shouldn't...

Re: TO shim or NOT TO shim

It depends on the source of the errors. If it is just variations in the build plate, then Johann's G29 should fix it. Apparently a new update of Repetier's development branch has a rewritten auto-radius that Roland claims is working, as indicated by 626Pilot here: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic...

I've been travelling all week. I haven't turned on my printer for something like 2+ weeks. Can't say when I'll get to it myself, but I'm interested in hearing any results if someone else tries.

Edit: Also, where'd you read this?

Re: Auto Level - Auto Calibration Talk

The delta arm length and printer radius have to coincide with all three tower positions or there will be problems. I'm not sure this statement is helpful. The delta arm length and tower positions are not directly related, i.e., adjustments to one won't affect the other. Printer radius and tower pos...

Nice I'm thrilled to hear that someone else has been able to manually adjust the tower positions and see improved results! I was hating feeling the "works for me" attitude, because with the little information presented I can't know enough about a machine to offer sound advice. As a reminde...

Thanks for the clarification. I'll be anxious to see the results if you perform an offline calibration of the tower positions. I've seen two reported successes of such a method so far.

Re: Auto Level - Auto Calibration Talk

So you're confirming that the Marlin(deltabot) G29 auto-level has eliminated doming? Or are you just stating that the command functions? Also, I'm pretty sure nothing gets updated to EEPROM when running the G29 command, though I haven't looked at that specific portion of the code for a while. It is ...

Re: Auto Level - Auto Calibration Talk

Just remember, Johann coded an auto-level routine as defined above. It is my (very rough) understanding that geometry errors can either manifest themselves in the Cartesian X/Y, the Cartesian Z, or a combination of all three. If you are lucky enough to have an error than only shows in the Z, then th...

Re: Marlin: X axis continues to pulse in direction of last m

You can use pretty much any host software with any firmware. Underneath, they all just send Gcode over serial. For example, I use Repetier-Host with Marlin, because I like the Repetier-Host interface much more than Printrun.

Re: Auto Level - Auto Calibration Talk

So, you think you want/need "auto-level?" Well, the truth is, in any current form (as of 2013/10/30), what you think is "auto-level" probably isn't going to help fix your Delta machine. Most likely leveling is not what you're after. Let's start with some definitions. This list a...

It could be. I've only played with a few of them, but they are of no use to me since I mostly print from SD.

Re: my bed is acting warped, or nozzle acting UP..

I concur with the geometry problem diagnosis. Squareness is a good start, but might not be enough.

When you say 0.23-0.50 mm, you're saying that the lift isn't the same at all three between-tower points, i.e., it's 0.23mm at one, 0.5mm at another, and possibly in-between for the third?

Re: Fancy pants post code

Host commands are pretty nice. You can find a full listing of them here: https://github.com/repetier/Repetier-Ho ... t-Commands

It should be mentioned that these will only work for "streaming" your prints over serial. They will NOT work if printing from SDCARD.

Re: Turning off printer

I'd have to think about it a bit more, but I'm sure you could devise some sort of dual-path latching circuit that allows manual power-on, but can be automatically powered off via the PS_ON pin. I'm pretty sure that's essentially how a PC handles things, although without a relay. I see it as requirin...

I have not used one, but I have a RUMBA on my bench to be installed in a 3DR printer once I get around to asssembling it. The board seems quite nice. Here's what I can say: it will work just fine, as the "core" processor is of the same family, if not identical, to that in the RAMBO (I'm to...

Re: Turning off printer

I know this isn't fully what you are looking for, but I setup a latch-and-hold circuit on the power-pin. This way, after issuing the M80 command (or pressing the Power toggle button in Repetier Host), I have to press a momentary button to latch the main power circuit (both heaters *and* the power su...
