Re: Big default "baby steps" - Duet

Thanks DC.. modifying the interface was exactly what I was looking for because I wanted to fine-tune height in motion from the web interface. I looked at the GCode generated by Simplify 3d and when you checkoff "relative extrusion" M83 is inserted into the instructions. Also I have some nu...

Big default "baby steps" - Duet

The Z baby stepping feature in Duet is set to .05mm+/- which seems to be a big default baby step for my purposes(a). I would like to have .01 or .02 baby steps. Where can that parameter be tuned? Some more questions, notes; 1) Does it pay to add more test points in bed.g 2) Should you PID tune the b...

Re: No joy with browser connection

My access point is not really setup as an access point. Its basically a hub. I am not really sure what you are saying here. Adding network hubs, AP's, routers and other stuff is not simplifying in my opinion. Before you know it people are troubleshooting network topology instead of solving printer p...

Re: First Probe

Felich... I had the same perception. That why I suggested - move away and towards the bed.

After home G28, you are finding zero by going negative towards the bed
In this case when you go negative in the G31 command you are going up.

Re: First Probe

I have a macro script in my build notes that addresses that concern. Here is a repeat of the posts that apply; I was having a concern whereby after I did G32 the hot end was pressing exactly into the bed after G0 Z0, with zero room for paper or a gauge. So my offset from the bed was not correct. To ...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

Yep no cables to tame. There is a beefy power supply - in the Artemis just waiting to be tapped; you are not heating the bed, so there is no bed-wattage-amperage running through the power supply say (guess) spare 14amps @12v I am (going to) running(run) external peripherals. I am using a spare +/- o...

Re: No joy with browser connection

My approach was to purchase an access point so the printer would have a dedicated network and thus not have to compete with DHCP (the router assigning IP addresses to devices). Adding an access point is meaningful if your wifi signal is too low, I was interested in Simplicity not signal.. This way ...

Re: No joy with browser connection

Hello Felich.. My approach was to purchase an access point so the printer would have a dedicated network and thus not have to compete with DHCP (the router assigning IP addresses to devices). My home network has far too much going on. My plan is to replace the access point with a router. Printer <--...

Re: Anyone installed TL Smoothers on their max v2 rambo?

Hey Dan.. If you are just interested in the cable, that is easy you can find many kinds of stepper cables on ebay. The following explains wiring and coils a bit and it talks about how to rewire and repin them. http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Stepper_wiring It looks like these boards MIGHT contain a recti...

Geneb... thanks! (I will give it a shot) Current Setting Cura (profile that is Seemecnc provided) --Zhop height 1mm In simplify3d I have z-hop set to a very low level and I don't have the issue. -- Retraction distance - pulling back the filament @4.5mm (Another question here is how far can you set y...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

What I am noticing with Cura vs Simplify 3d is that Cura has a wider range of tuning parameters; IMHO (I could be wrong here) S3d has better support structures, it seems to manage travel of infill better, and the interface is slicker and more intuitive. There is a big advantage to having access to t...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

I just finished up the machines first long print (more parts for the same project), a 23 hour print! This large part came out perfectly in terms of finish. The part was firmly attached to the bed, and when the bed cooled it released easily. I will upload a picture, I will refine the design a bit and...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

Here is the first big print.. which covers much of the bed. It's a 12v power center for my desk.. for lights USB etc. A question was asked to whether or not auto leveling should be done on cool settings or hot. Having tried both, I would say cool bed and hot extruder. Or medium heat on the bed and h...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

I have a a cura question; I am using SE300 PLA Fast profile with PLA The profile bumps up the temperature which is good In Duet controller I had to reduce print speed down to 85% I reduced Extrusion Factor to 85 as well. I found the print speed setting in Cura profile easily. I could not find the Du...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

I printed some bolts to hold the top enclosure lid of the Artemis into place. The threads are perfect. to seemecnc - the bed hold down clips could be just a tad less wide. I am warming to the bottom lid rivets, and also (its blasphemy) to cura as well. The green print is from a flashforge creator pr...

Re: Artemis - Build Notes

Here is a macro for setting your bed offset. You can change the Z parameter in the G31 line as needed. -.48 happens to be my new setting. I could not find how to input a parameter from the screen in Gcode. I did not use Pause and Resume I just waited 30 seconds; this way slip a piece of paper betwee...

Re: Calibration for stringing

Suggesting there is more than one concern to address, happening at the same time; not that the two concerns are related.

IMHO it does not pay to look at anything software related (or software tunable) until physical build issues are addressed (or ruled out).
