Re: CURA

Does Cura support Telnet connection to the printer? If so then you just need to configure it to use Telnet instead of serial, and enable Telnet on the Duet using the M586 command. However, if you want to monitor the printer, then running Duet Web Control on the PC next to Cura will give you more inf...

Re: Printing in mirror image

Swap the X and Y motor connections, also swap the X and Y endstop switch connections assuming the printer homes correctly at present. If you are using software endstop position corrections then you will need to swap those X and Y values too.

Duet 3 demo at TCT

In case any of you missed it, we were showing off the Duet 3 main board and expansion board prototypes at TCT last month. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LaNYeQiZK9M The motors on the left are NEMA 17, the ones in the middle NEMA 23 and the ones on the right NEMA 34. Duet 3 is aimed at high end system...

Re: Tech Support Needed on Z-Probe Always Triggered

You /cannot/ run the calibration while the heated bed is turned on due to the field the heated bed creates. The calibration macro that SeeMeCNC includes should be turning the bed off right before calibration begins. A simpler option which will cause less drop in temperature would be to use the B pa...

Re: New printer owner here. Ask me questions!

Multiple extrusion has been working robustly on Duets since 2014. What I think is going wrong is that you are not setting the tool standby temperatures (so the standby temperature is 0C), and perhaps you have not set up the tool change macros. Tool standby temperatures are set using the G10 R parame...

Re: Latest Firmware?

Looks like all the big boys have moved over to Duet. I'm still using the last version (circa 2016??) of 626pilot's. I may have to take that plunge too. :( I don't want to stop you buying a Duet, but FWIW there is now a port of RepRapFirmware for LPC1769 based controllers. See https://reprap.org/for...

Re: Duet WiFi - Rostock V2

Be careful if you are driving the BerdAir pump directly from a Duet fan output. The high starting current of brushed DC motors can be too much for the fan mosfet. So you should use either a surge-limiting thermistor in series with the motor, or an external mosfet switch.

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

I'm glad you solved it! It's actually HTML5 local storage that DWC uses, not cookies, but the two are usually enabled/disabled together in the browser.

I'll see if we can have DWC produce a warning when HTML5 local storage is not available.

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

On one MacPro 3.1 I use Firefox 41, on the other one I use Firefox 57 - same result. In Firefox's Prefs, I could Not find anything JavaScript.... So I installed "Java for OSX" - no difference. You don't need Java. Javascript is built into all browsers, but some browsers provide an option ...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

If M552 tells you that networking is enabled by the actual IP address is 0.0.0.0 then your router hasn't assigned the Duet an IP address. Is the Duet connected to your router, or direct to your Mac? if it is connected direct to your mac then you will need to configure static IP addresses for both th...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

Problems connecting a Duet Ethernet to a network are typically caused by IP address conflicts. If you (or SeeMeCNC) haven't already done so, you probably need to change the IP address in the M552 command in config.g to either 0.0.0.0 to get an address from your DHCP server, or to a static IP address...

Re: mesh calibration issues

The X-direction ridges and valleys at each end suggest that you still have a small issue with backlash, probably caused by either a sticky joint or play in asjoint.

SeeMeCNC has their own version of the Smart Effector now, and that may fit your ball and socket arms better. The Duet3D one is designed to be used with magnetic joints.

Re: mesh calibration issues

I'm debating about going with the Delta Smart Effector but I haven't heard anything on their pluses and minuses. I'm skittish about putting a PCB that close to the business end of a hotend. How about it David, what's it's track record so far? The feedback we have from users of the Smart Effector is...

Re: mesh calibration issues

The ridges and valleys running along the X direction mean that the height of the effector depends on whether that XY point was approached from the +X or -X direction. This could be caused by loose or sticky joints. The big drop at the right hand side is odd. It could indicate that the FSRs don't tri...

Re: Motor Currents?

I can corroborate the need to play with especially extruder current limits; mine (totally stock) was skipping terribly when I first got it. I goosed it up in increments until it didn't skip any longer, then added 100mA to that value just for some insurance. I don't see any downside, and none of my ...

If you upgrade the firmware in the wrong order it's no big deal, you can get them in sync again without using bossac. Just move the SD card to a PC, replace the /www folder with the contents of the correct version DuetWebControl.zip file, and copy the main firmware file (Duet2CombinedFirmware.bin) t...

It would be nice to get a temperature reading on the TMC drivers.. The MCU temperature is running very low. The TMC drivers don't report their temperatures, but they do provide an over temperature warning well before they reach the shutdown temperature. I use this to turn on the electronics cooling...

@Xenocrates, thanks for providing clarification. I haven't looked at SeeMeCNC's repo for a while.

The version number for RRF is in the Version.h file. When I commit new fimware I usually include the version number in the title of the commit.

Re: Artemis Browser Interface

Duet Web Control does include the file date in the GCode file listing, and the most recent few versions allow you to sort the file list by date. If you are viewing the list on a smartphone then you might need to scroll the display (horizontally?) to see the date.

The sound difference between the Duet 0.8.5 and the DuetWifi is astonishing. The 0.8.5 is insanely loud in comparison. g.
