Re: mesh calibration issues

SeeMeCNC has their own version of the Smart Effector now, and that may fit your ball and socket arms better. The Duet3D one is designed to be used with magnetic joints.

Re: mesh calibration issues

I'm debating about going with the Delta Smart Effector but I haven't heard anything on their pluses and minuses. I'm skittish about putting a PCB that close to the business end of a hotend. How about it David, what's it's track record so far? The feedback we have from users of the Smart Effector is...

Re: mesh calibration issues

The ridges and valleys running along the X direction mean that the height of the effector depends on whether that XY point was approached from the +X or -X direction. This could be caused by loose or sticky joints. The big drop at the right hand side is odd. It could indicate that the FSRs don't tri...

Re: Motor Currents?

I can corroborate the need to play with especially extruder current limits; mine (totally stock) was skipping terribly when I first got it. I goosed it up in increments until it didn't skip any longer, then added 100mA to that value just for some insurance. I don't see any downside, and none of my ...

Re: Duet Wifi web console issues

If you upgrade the firmware in the wrong order it's no big deal, you can get them in sync again without using bossac. Just move the SD card to a PC, replace the /www folder with the contents of the correct version DuetWebControl.zip file, and copy the main firmware file (Duet2CombinedFirmware.bin) t...

Re: Printing my own trucks M665 / M666

It would be nice to get a temperature reading on the TMC drivers.. The MCU temperature is running very low. The TMC drivers don't report their temperatures, but they do provide an over temperature warning well before they reach the shutdown temperature. I use this to turn on the electronics cooling...

Re: Artemis Browser Interface

@Xenocrates, thanks for providing clarification. I haven't looked at SeeMeCNC's repo for a while.

The version number for RRF is in the Version.h file. When I commit new fimware I usually include the version number in the title of the commit.

Re: Artemis Browser Interface

Duet Web Control does include the file date in the GCode file listing, and the most recent few versions allow you to sort the file list by date. If you are viewing the list on a smartphone then you might need to scroll the display (horizontally?) to see the date.

Re: Duet Tuning.

The sound difference between the Duet 0.8.5 and the DuetWifi is astonishing. The 0.8.5 is insanely loud in comparison. g. The Duet 0.6 is already incredibly easier on the ears than the Rambo ever was too! ;-) Assuming the same motor current in both cases, that would be because RepRapFirmware genera...

Re: Converting MAX v3 to ATX PSU

The disadvantages of ATX PSUs are that you generally need to put a dummy load on the 5V output, the output voltage is not adjustable, it is likely to be a little less than 12V, and unless you buy a good brand name PSU then it is likely to be not well regulated. All of which means that you may be sho...

To get a more accurate reading from the thermocouple, feed it into the hot end through a short Bowden tube instead of filament.

Re: adarcher's build/troubleshooting

Yup, but something else is different in the 1.21 firmware because without changing from stock anything, the XYZ motors create that highpitch noise and don't move--that's what I was talking about, the extruder is what reminded me of what could be the issue. The culprit was the "G0 Z5 F30000;&qu...

Re: Duet Tuning.

https://www.repetier.com/dead-time-control/ OK, at present this just seems to be an issue on warmup not when the hotend is up to temperature. There is no M307 in the default configuration file for H1 In that case I suggest you run M303 heater tuning, and transfer the results to a M307 command in co...

Re: Duet Ethernet connectivity problems

We get very few issues with connectivity on the Duet Ethernet. Have you tried a different Ethernet cable, and a different port on your router or switch? Are you certain that the IP address you assigned to the Duet isn't also being used by another device? If you've already checked those things then p...

Re: Duet Ethernet connectivity problems

That ending code looks ok except that on some deltas, turning off the motors with M84 may allow the effector to drop so that the still-hot nozzle melts into the print. I suggest you leave out the M84. The motor current will be reduced to the idle value after 30 seconds of no movement anyway.

If you rename the DuetWiFiFirmware.bin file that you want to install to Duet2CombinedFirnware.bin and upload it through DWC on the Settings General page, it should install.

Re: Duet Ethernet connectivity problems

Have you tried assigning the Duet a static IP address in the M552 command? There were some potential issues with the DHCP client when the lease expired, and although I believe these are fixed in firmware 1.21 it's hard to be sure.

Hey Gene, Will this method get me up to 150C? Thanks, Matt Yes if you choose a suitable power density. I use a 350W 300mm diameter AC silicone heater to heat a 330mm diameter bed, which works out around 0.4W per sq cm. It reaches 150C easily (not that I normally use it that high) and I have had it ...

Re: Duet Ethernet connectivity problems

As you are using USB, see https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/USB_ground_loops. Also do not use Repetier host unless you know how to stop it enabling debug.

#4 could be this: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Network_ ... arge_files.
