Re: New build, major calibration issue. Crashes to bed.

I can't tell from the video, but do you have the glass bed in place atop the Onyx bed? I got that same behavior with a GekoTek plate, but installing the glass let it calibrate properly. The other thing I would check, is to home the printer, then use the LCD to move the head to the bed and set the z ...

How to home a Rostock when reset is pressed?

I added an LCD panel to my Eris some months ago, and one thing I rather like is that when I press the reset button on the panel during a print, the printing stops and the hot end homes (so I don't have a hot nozzle still touching the print). However on my Rostock Max v2 (updated with the latest firm...

Woodturned sphere with 3D printed coil

Lauren and I enjoy experimenting with combining materials and techniques. I turned the hard maple sphere on a lathe, she embellished it with archival ink. It sits atop a wood coil printed on my Rostock Max V2. It's dual filament, with the body printed with ColorFabb WoodFill, and the supports printe...

Re: How to autocalibrate using Simplify3d

Are you asking how to send a G28 and then a G29 to the printer via S3D's "Send" area at the bottom of communication tab on the machine control panel? This might help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBRNEaKjRqo Also, do you realize that there is a calibration item in the machine's LCD panel...

I have not done dual extrusion in MatterControl, but I found a video that might help you get started. There are also some links in the video's description

There is also a similar video for Cura

Re: Dual extrusion video - Rostock Max v2

Not elusive at all, just very busy... I brought my Max v2, Eris and the computer with the software and settings on it to a local MakerSpace this past weekend, and I have not had time to unpack all of the equipment and get it reinstalled. I should be able to do screenshots tomorrow of every tab in th...

Re: BerdAir comeing soon From Yellow Jacket Concepts

I am going to replace the original small Berd-Air pump on my Max v2 with the new larger pump. In my current installation, I simply power the small pump via the wires that go to the layer fans. If I recall correctly, the larger pump draws about 1 amp at startup. My question is can I still wire it the...

I am guessing that what you are looking for is in Configuration.h of the firmware for example a snippet of the Extruder 0 section (from line 162 and 163) #define EXT0_SELECT_COMMANDS "M117 Extruder 0\nT0\nM84 P4\nG91\nG1E172F6000\nG1E5F500\nG90" #define EXT0_DESELECT_COMMANDS "G91\nG1...

Re: 2 INTO 1 DUAL FILAMENT FEED ADAPTER COMPLETE KIT

Glacian,

There is no code entered for Tool Change in my S3D profiles.

There is only the typical simple start and end commands for the print.

It must be relying on the firmware to do the filament swap when switching extruders.

I am not getting 'blobs everywhere' in my prints with S3D.
I made a short video of my current setup... are your results substantially different than mine?

Re: New duel extrusion

I agree with the comment about light color filaments. I just posted a video of a 2 color frog, printed in red and blue with a 20mm priming pillar... it worked out beautifully. The same frog printed in white and purple did show some tinting of some of the white areas. It was worse with a bright white...

Dual extrusion video - Rostock Max v2

A few days ago, I updated one of my 3D printers, so it can now do dual extrusion. The hardware is performing very nicely, and after some tweaking of the slicer settings, I’m getting some nice dual color prints. Without going into too much detail, this video shows how I have the hardware set up, and ...

No problem at all running with one extruder...
You can use either one, or both.

Re: Auto Calibration points

A related request for those of us who have built enclosures that are fairly close to the bed diameter... doing a G29 can crash the head into the enclosure wall. So if we don't mind a smaller build diameter, is there an easy way of telling the auto calibration to use a smaller area of the build plate?

Re: Rostock Max v2 HE280/Accelerometer Upgrade - Summary

Last week, I had a problem with similar(but not exactly the same) symptoms, but with my X tower. Mine would not hit the tower before touching the bed, but would crash into, and slide off the bed, then hit the tower. It turns out that my wiring was correct but the accelerometer did not like my build ...
