Re: Suspected RAMBo Problem

May I suggest you buy either some heatshrink, and re-terminate, or use some heat shrink tape? Electrical tape is usually not well formulated for use on moving cables, and may unwrap and put you in the same spot.

Re: Suspected RAMBo Problem

Sounds like a short somewhere may have taken out one or more of the microfuses. There are a pair of surface mount fuse holders on the board that hold tiny fuses. Take each out, and test it for continuity. Then test each output for a short circuit, with the power off.

Re: Fried my Rambo - Can I just 'drop in' a Duet board?

I have a design for a duet .8.5 drop in mount with fan holes for more normal fan sizes on the back, posted to Repables. It replaces exactly the original tray for the rambo. However, the Duet uses Molex KK series .1 inch headers, which are slightly different and don't directly mate to the Molex LP co...

Re: Laser Cutter advice and questions

Other than echoing Geneb, my earlier comment stands, including liking ATC's products (no problems since), liking some of Boss Laser's machines, but not their support (had to rebuild a reducing assembly, since they sent something like 4 that had poorly fitted keys, or incorrectly chosen grub screws.)...

Re: Rostock max V2 Keeps restarting

If the USB cable is worn, or either port, then as the connection is made and broken, arduino based boards will reset to allow updates. It may well just be the cable. Does this behavior happen with other cables, or other USB ports on your computer?

Re: Rostock MAX v2 Question

That Mosfet board is essentially a DC SSR of a specific type, but lacking the physical robustness and some safety features such as resin potting, or even an enclosed shell. It's probably not quite as good as an Auber SSR, but it's probably better than a Fauxtec is likely to be.

Kisslicer (if you don't mind the interface), Prusa's slicer (whatever it's named now), Craftware if you want the support Simplify3d does and don't want to pay for it (or don't like their license policies like me), and Cura are all other options for slicers, but those don't really do USB print hostin...

Anyone know if this is compatible with 24V power supply system? I'm planning to do a full 24V upgrade with the MeanWell SP-750-24 with E3D V6 24V hotend and I couldn't find specifics.
You may have the adjust the current limiting resistors for the LED's, but it should function otherwise.

Re: new version 1!

The instructions should be correct for the upload process. However, the calibration values such as the horizontal radius, and diagonal rod length, will be incorrect. There may be references in the code, or one of the people who've owned a V1, such as Geneb or Proto, could help you. Alternatively, yo...

I'm usually browsing the forums daily(but Geneb gets to questions faster than I do, thanks to my awful schedule). Are you using any bed prep or material beyond clean bare glass? Any specific brand of PLA you're using, and has it been open long? (I got some bad warping with the spools from my little ...

Re: Vertical dimension calibration PROBLEM for Rostock max V2

And is your part something like 20% too tall? The steps per MM should be 80, or very close. Any other value is either a result of mechanical modifications, or serious mechanical issues. Are you sure that you aren't using the arm length for a different set of arms (a bit confusingly, there's a few op...

Are you sure that your points are correct? that sharp edge downwards suggests there's something wrong with the Z-probe (or another inconsistent factor)

If it ends up being a replace the board situation, I would really recommend one of the Duet boards (and could potentially help with the configuration for it)

Can you check with a 100k resistor and a lower value one as well? I can also potentially send you one that is working (it boots, and is stable), but had an issue with the reset switch having died causing it to boot-loop, and it got replaced with a Duet before I had time to troubleshoot it. I wouldn'...

Re: Rostock MAX v3.2 reviews

The barrier to getting an affordable printer with a heated chamber is patents. Until the patents that Stratasys (and probably 3D Systems) expire, there's no legal way for companies like SeeMeCNC to offer a heated chamber - Stratasys certainly isn't going to license the patents to a competitor. Even...

Re: Rostock MAX v3.2 reviews

From my perspective, as the owner of effectively a Rostock max 2.2 (Duet, auto-leveling, and all the other fancy stuff I wanted), the 3.2 is a really nice machine, since it eliminates the need for something like 500$ worth of upgrades I've done (~100$ total in FSR system, ~175-200 in the duet, ~100$...

Re: Stop during Calibration

EEPROM isn't largely about connections. It's storing configuration information (In your case, Z height, is what we care about), which while it includes the connection settings, is mostly printer calibration data. Try options, EEPROM settings. You may want to use Show Terminal first, so that you can ...

That sounds like a bad z-height setting. You should try to use something like Mattercontrol to edit the EEPROM parameter for Z-height.

Re: Stop during Calibration

It sounds like an intermittent connection in the hotend whip or connector is causing the printer to reset. Are the wires tight, and when you did the upgrade, did you replace the wires going to hotend? Alternatively, if it's just that it locks up when probing, and not manually, perhaps the code to ac...

Re: 091 Firmware pause for filament out

If you don't change the EEPROM mode, it may carry over without issue. You could also edit the EEPROM after flashing, as the last value checked will be stored there, and the EEPROM is what the firmware checks once on the board for operating parameters. Is there a reason not to upgrade the arms and ot...
