Re: Latest Firmware?

Looks like all the big boys have moved over to Duet. I'm still using the last version (circa 2016??) of 626pilot's. I may have to take that plunge too. I don't want to stop you buying a Duet, but FWIW there is now a port of RepRapFirmware for LPC1769 based controllers. See m. I haven't used it myse...

Re: MAX METAL poll -build right or upside down?

I ended up moving the PSU completely outside the enclosure bc prevent overheating.

What's the advantage of flipping it upside down?

Update:. Ah I guess it would make wiring easier. Too late now.

No, thank you for all your hard work!! I finally finished converting my "giant" RM2 to a MM yesterday. I wouldn't have done so without you and everyone else paving the way before me.

Here's a remix of ccavanaugh's electronics enclosure front plate for those of us running a smoothie without an LCD screen. It has a 19mm front hole to fit standard car LED switches as well as the power switch that came with the RM2. http://i.imgur.com/4LYJ4W6.jpg NOGLCD Front Cover.stl

Opting for "normal style". I don't want my printer to be top heavy.

Re: The Original Air struder

What are light bands? Google pics shows me something different. Do you mind sharing a picture of your setup? Btw... the filament is now 1.8mm! That's what happens when you buy cheap ones Something like this: m My current rostock is extra tall (780mm z length), so all the wires + flyingstruder can a...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

Yes, you will need to calibrate your steps per mm for that extruder. You can change that using the EEPROM. And in the firmware adjust the current for that motor. If you are using Repetier, in Configuration.h, change line 701, where motor current settings are defined. The array of settings is {X,Y,Z...

Re: The Original Air struder

Recent posts gave fever for making an air-struder, it's working good but now my prints looks a bit over extruded. Any ideas? I'm tuning retraction atm, but it doesn't seem to be the issue. Also, the geared motor + cold end weights about 500g, is a counterweight necessary? I've seen people on thingi...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

I got this one: m http://i.imgur.com/fMLhZmA.jpg Yep! That's the smaller of the two that we ordered. The other is a 25mm. Looking forward to seeing how they work on the Titan! Most here believe them to be too large to mount directly to the hot-end. Can't say that I disagree but I'm looking forward ...

I had similar banding when I was using bang-bang on my smoothieboard. Switching over to PWM resolved my problem.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

My original flynstrude didn't fit. So I just reimagined it. Motor is one of those tiny short-body 13N Nema17 pancake steppers. Ultra light compared to the original. What is the length of the stepper you are using? Weight? We recently ordered some 20 and 25mm steppers to see how they perform. Unfort...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

Very nice design indeed! You have inspired some additional design considerations! When you reload do you just cut the filament above the Titan then pull out from the top after heating the hot-end? One of the biggest PITA for me has been trying to reload by unscrewing the bowden tube connector from ...

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothie

Having used FSRs for about a year now, I just never really liked them. They always seemed to vary so much, and I've tried everything. I mean when I touched the bed, it *seemed* pretty sensitive. But during calibrations, it would vary from reboot to reboot. Results were usually pretty inconsistent. S...

Prints too small

After recalibrating my machine with 626pilots firmware...I proceeded to print my 20mm cube again.

It seems like every side is approximately .3mm too small. This was printed with ABS.

Even with ABS shrinkage, this seems like an aweful lot. Where would I begin to go about figuring out what is wrong?

Printed this 3x, I think it's pretty close to the size...maybr off .3mm? Either way the lever doesn't seem to push strongly enough against the filament. I may have to shave it down as well like the above user said.
