Re: Selling my heated cabinet

Considering the thousands of well working v2s there are out there, maybe the printer isn't the failure point here. ;)

Re: Duel extruder problem

When you load that profile sans batarang, does it show you the two extruder tabs on the right? (see example below)
2019-08-16 04_29_46-Ultimaker Cura.png
Do you have temps set in both tabs and specific model sections assigned to the respective extruder tabs?

Where did you get the dual extruder profile?

Re: Fried my Rambo - Can I just 'drop in' a Duet board?

Not that I'm aware of. I saw a mount on Thingiverse some years ago that would allow an easy drop-in of a Duet to where the RAMBo was.

You might also look at at Duet Maestro if the Duet WiFi would be overkill. It's less money.

Re: Fried my Rambo - Can I just 'drop in' a Duet board?

The primary gain in the Duet is the ability to do auto-calibration. In order to do that, you either need a Smart Effector and your hot end of choice, or the SE300 hot end assembly from SeeMeCNC. I'd also /highly/ recommend you get the ball/cup arm kit if your machine is still using the u-joint arms....

My, that is a funky little box, innit? :)

The Z-Axis should be ok, even though it's kind of weird.

Re: Ghosting on vertical surfaces

If the v4 is like the 3.2, you only need to loosen the motor screws a tiny bit and lift up the motor a tiny bit before tightening the screws.

I would have mentioned this earlier, but I thought you'd built the v4 from a kit. My apologies.

Re: Ghosting on vertical surfaces

Mechanically, the 3.2 and the 4 are going to be pretty close - the 4 will be stiffer due to the all-metal construction. You might want to try tightening up your belts a little bit and see how that goes. How fast are you printing? Is the bowden tube & wiring harness in a position to "drag" the effect...

What speed were you printing at? Flexibles typically like around 10mm/sec.

Re: Rostock v4 Error code M141

Check to make sure that your slicing software isn't adding an M141 call - you might have accidentally told it you've got a chamber heater, which would trigger the inclusion of the M141 code.

That's weird. I've never seen that effect before.

What slicer are you using?

I'm hoping someone will offer you a suggestion - personally I never mess with the jerk settings in the firmware. (primarily because I have no idea what I'm doing with them. :D )

Re: Rostock MAX v2 Print not smooth

I would check to make sure that the carriages are still tight on the rails. I've had two v2s that have had broken screw pockets, primarily due to my inadvertent over-tightening of the screws. :)

Re: Laser Cutter advice and questions

I've got a 45 Watt Epilog Mini 24. It's a great workhorse of a machine. You treat it like a printer, not a CNC machine - you /literally/ send print jobs to it. It's great. But yes, pretty expensive. Mine is 12 years old and still going strong.

Re: Laser Cutter advice and questions

Personally, I wouldn't touch anything less than 45-50 watts. If you want to cut plywood thicker than 1/8" "lite ply", you're going to want 60+ watts.

Re: Horizontal Radius not changing

Are you using the SeeMeCNC fork of the firmware? If not, that's what you should be using. It requires Arduino 1.6.0 to compile properly. If you make an eeprom change and save it, and the change doesn't show up after you've rebooted the printer, then the EEPROM update wasn't working properly. I would...
