Re: Prints keep warping

Printed two prints last night using abs juice applied using a foam brush. Worked like a charm no edges pulling up and removing the prints wasn't much harder then when using hairspray. What is the best way to clean the build plate after several builds should I just use acetone to wipe it down? Thanks...

Re: Prints keep warping

Sounds like it is worth a shot then. I will try with a very thin layer and see how that works.

Prints keep warping

I am having quite a hard time getting even fairly small prints to stay firmly attached at the corners. I have leveled and releveled the my rostock 2 many times and I am getting a great looking first layer but once my prints get about 10 -15 mm they start pulling up. I have been printing with an 8mm ...

Could you let me know where you purchased the hinges you use to attach the lexan sheets together. Thanks!

Re: Using heatlamp to speed up initial bed heating

Here is a quick shot of the setup. I have a smaller ceramic heater bulb in the mail since the one in there right now is huge and way to bright. Next up is to print some better brackets to reduce the holes in the enclosure and find a way to join the sheets of acrylic.

Re: Using heatlamp to speed up initial bed heating

I decided to go with the more traditional heatbulb as I read some more posts about how hairdryers are not designed to run continuously and my basement is pretty cold. So far the heatbulb is working great even with my leaky enclosure.

Re: Using heatlamp to speed up initial bed heating

Has anyone used a hairdryer instead of a heat bulb for a heated enclosure? I say a couple of examples of this in other forums and thought it might work well as the hot air would be blown around the enclosure ensuring an even heat. Any thoughts?

Re: Slow bed heating: solution!

Are these two values

"Bed PID max value"
"Bed PID Drive Max"

set lower than 255 for a reason?

Re: SeeMeCNC Version vs Stock MatterControl

Haha, Only reason I am asking is that even with the 1.5 alpha build I still am unable to use the auto bed leveling without artificially increasing the max z height in the eeprom. It always say that it cannot go lower when I have the Z height set properly. I have my hotend mounted below the effector ...

SeeMeCNC Version vs Stock MatterControl

Does anyone know what the difference is between the stock MatterControl and the SeeMeCNC flavor of the app?

Thanks,

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

I printed that template but there was no almost no way for me to position it such that none of the holes would overlap with the big hole in the bottom of the printer.

MatterControl 1.5 release to the alpha channel

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any change lists for the alpha channel. I was looking through the list of commits but was hoping that somewhere a concise change list could be found.

Thanks,
Nathan

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

The rest of the components came yesterday so I was able to get my max back together. One thing that became a problem was when I went to drill the new holes for the power supply I realized my version of the max has a large hole for the old power supply and as such no where to screw into. I ended up u...

Well sadly my power supply upgrade kit didn't come with anything other than the power supply. I have sent and email to seemecnc but will have to wait until the rest of the components come.

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

Good to hear, the less soldering I have to do the better as I am no good at it. The power supply should be here tonight so I am excited to get everything wired back up and be printing again.

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

Interesting I read multiple posts where people stated that adding a second wire helped but maybe that was just placebo. Would adding the second wire hurt? If so I will try to unsolder it.

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

Got the bottom opened up and all the wires wrapped up. Once the power supply arrives, hopefully this afternoon, I will get it installed and route all the wiring. It already looks much better with the mass of unneeded wires from the original power supply gone. I also added a second set of wires to th...

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

Awesome! Thanks for the link didn't realize SeeMeCNC was selling the power supply. I will go ahead and grab one. Also glad to see it is possible to lift that bottom top off. I will do that once the new power supply comes in and cleanup all the wiring that has been bothering my since I put it together.

Re: New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

Thanks for all the info, do you have a link to the newer industrial style power supplies. Now that you mention the rambo fan I am starting to think that might be the culprit. I will have to pull it out and check closely tonight.

New Power Supply / Opening the Bottom

I think my power supply is finally giving up. Over the past few months occasionally when I turn the printer on something would make a loud whirring noise and the temps would both show up as def. It only happened here an there and usually turning the machine off and then on again would fix it. Now it...

Re: Using heatlamp to speed up initial bed heating

I was reading some old threads about the different revision of the Onyx heatbed and it was mentioned that the Rev 5 had some problems with not being able to reach higher temps. Would it make sense for me to purchase a newer rev 7. Would I see a difference in heating times and where the bed tops out ...

Re: Using heatlamp to speed up initial bed heating

I do have a chamber on my printer. It is not 100% sealed as it was initial designed just to prevent drafts and help hold heat in a little better. I would like to increase the voltage to the bed but I have read a few of the threads on adding a 24 volt power supply and using a ssr but there is a lot o...
