Re: How-to: Dimensional Accuracy Calibration for Delta Printers

My Delta build is very accurate. All angles are nearly perfect. Effector is parallel to the printbed. Arms are all within 0,05mm Tolerance. But why are all prints in Y-Direction 0,1mm to small, but in X-Direction nearly perfect? No matter what I do, Y-Direction is 0,1mm smaller than X-Direction, in...

Re: How-to: Dimensional Accuracy Calibration for Delta Printers

I´m in the process to calibrate dimensional accuracy also. All is nearly perfect, but have one issue. Printed Boxes like 626pilot mentioned. One 30x30x10mm, 60x60x10mm, 90x90x10mm. All hollow. Wall thickness is 2mm. Walls are 2mm one the spot, height is on the spot. Cube 30x30 is in X=30,02 in Y=29,...

Effector Platform in Colorfabb XT-CF?

Hi All, I did some prints with the colorfabb XT-CF and recognized the very good stability/Stiffness. Extreme High Flex Modulus (6.2 GPa) / twice as stiff as PLA Moderate strain at break (8-10%), so no extreme brittle filament, but toughness High Glass Temp. (Tg = 80C) Very high Melt strength Very hi...

had installed 1.09x beta and now I´ve updated to 1.09x release. Worked like a charme over the webinterface update function. Simply copy the firmware file with the webinterface. After uploading you will get a message that a firmware was uploaded and if you want to do this update. Really easy now to u...

I've just ordered the duet. Is the crishamm fork of the dc42 reprap firmware the one to go with then?

At the Moment, yes.

But David will update with all new features in near future.
I have used both. Davids and Chris Firmware. Both are great and nearly the same.

Which Motor/Gear you used?
5:1 or more?
Do you have a link to this combo?
What is the weight of the Motor/Gear?

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress

@ lightpath:

assuming your wiring is correct, try to lower acceleration for the extruder massivly.

I had an 5:1 extruder motor which only worked well when I lowered acceleration from 2000 down to 700. above it was lossing steps and sometimes stalling.

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress

@KAS: on the second time I watched your video I recognized that your IR-Board is attached too far away from the surface. Normal probing point is between 3-4mm. But yours is much more. Maybe one of the IR-Diodes is heavily missaligned. Send this video to David and I´m sure he knows what to do or what...

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress

My IR-Probe is working perfect. Like KAS said, every surface is showing different probe heights. Think it´s because of better/worse reflection. But my sanded PEI is giving me repeatable accuracy in 0.01-0.02mm. Same on Glas, which is painted black on the rearside, or on Buildtak. I have now 3 IR-Pro...

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress

Have Davids IR-Probe working with a 3mm PEI Sheet without any problems. No Black Paint, no nothing. Just sanded the PEI with 800grid Paper and clipped onto a 5mm Aluminum Heatspreader.

Re: web based Delta printer least-squares calibration calcul

If I could make 1 change to the Rostock or make 1 upgrade recommendation it would be to use Duet with an FSR probing system... Better to use the contactless IR-Miniboard from David (DC42). Using FSR is probematic if you are using a heated bed which is covered with Buildtak for example. One touch wi...

Re: Magnetic vs. ball-joint rod ends [poll]

I've purchased quite a few brand name Traxxas rod ends. The problem is, they are all over the map with regards to slop. I purchase 24 to find 12 good ones. And calling Traxxas, they just say they are "in spec" - which is not publicly published. Traxxas is crap - like all others. Too much ...

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL with Linear Rails

... Increasing the triangle count will improve the print quality until you reach the segmentation threshold of the firmware, at which point, increased # of triangles won't have an effect and might actually make things worse. That is except dc42, which will faithfully trace each of the tiny line seg...

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

DC42´s calibration is working well if you have a complete flat bed and hardware which is accurate built. I have 0.02-0.05mm tolerance on glas across the whole bed (280MM dia). But only on Glas. When I do it on Buildtak or PEI on my finemilled aluminum heatspreader I got 0.07-0.12mm. That shows, that...

@626Pilot: Have you seen the M668 ? I havnt checked it yet, but maybe its easy for you to write code for the 40 points that are probed and can be stored in a file to be read out for the M668 command? Maybe for the moment you can probe 40 points manualy and use them in M668. After that it should be p...

@626Pilot:

Have you solved your temp holding problem with running layer fans?

Would you post your config.g line where PIDs are for the hotend?

Have the same with my layer fans and can´t get it holding temp.

Did you print it with your 0.25 Nozzle? Very cool! I never got good results with a .25 Nozzle.

And I like your Layerfans. Can you tell us where you got them? Which Brand? 24V? Size?

Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints

here is my first print with Davids IR-Probe installed. Nozzle 0.4, Layer 0.2mm I´m happy with that contactless Probe. It is working perfect with repeatability of 0,01mm. For this I used a clamped PEI sheet. Not as perfectly even as glass, but working with a first layer of 0.3mm IMG_0941.jpg IMG_0936...
