Re: Heated Bed slow heating wont go past 68 degrees

Check power cables connected to the board.

If they have started to burn up due to a poor connection, that will inhibit the bed from reaching temp.

Re: Bed Heat

Don't get the Fotek. Too many clones around. They have been known to pump up the price to hide the fact that they are clones.

I would recommend one of the other brands recommended. (One that is a mosfed based solution).

I have built my own, but it is not worth the hassle.

Re: Bed Heat

Foteks are not that bad. But you have to watch out for the cheap clones!

My event happened with a clone. I burned 3 of them one after the other.

Re: 24V Upgrade to my Max V3

If you blocked all the air vents then you will end up with heat buildup in the bottom.

It may be a better idea to insulate the bottom of the bed. (Some have done it eith aerogel).

Re: Bed resistor?

Which resistor are you talking about (i have the v2).

On mine there are resistors on the bed to limit the current going to the LED's.

You do not really need them. But they should also not affect the operation of the thermistor.

Re: Screen went blank

Stop immediately!

A loose connection is a high resistance point. It WILL heat up and melt the connector after a short time.

You have to make sure the power connections are nice and tight.

A true story from my grandma who was 100 years old at the time:

The nurse comes in and looks at my grandma and asks.

"Mrs Martta, why are the bedsheets on the floor?"

Her answer:

"The night visitor had to leave in a hurry"

Oh, measure your filament aswell.

Had the same happen when i was experimenting with factory reject filament, which suddenly increased in size to 2mm.

Re: Failed print now printed parts just break apart

If the print is a bit crunchy that indicates under extrusion. I had that problem and needed so solve it fast. It was a bit complicated for me untill i found the cause. Too much resistance extruding, if you cannot manually (by turning with your hand) extrude then you have a problem with the bowden tu...

Fan is cooling too much

Not enough heat to heating element.

Try increasing max pid value so system is able to pump more heat.

The new forum engine is not doing it for me.

From a mobile phone it does not give the same experience as it used to.

Also there seems to be less people tinkering - pushing boundaries.

Re: Too much space when extruding

Try the print again, but this time play with the extrusion multiplier. It is accessible by the lcd while you are printing. If by increasing it you get a satisfactory result you know that your problem is with the filament diameter OR extrusion multiplier OR extruder calibration (the are all used to c...

Re: Derivative of Rostock -- Advice?

I have built robots that have only a couple of nanometers resolution. So I have a little bit of experience with building stuff. Get a kit. It is fairly good and at the end of it you have a functionning printer. Plus you have learned a lot. Then you can use it to build your own design. You can also s...

Re: Rostock MAX™ v2 for son

Build it stock first with dampers... Read the threads on the damper installation. You can have a look at cable management options to make a beautifull printer. The manual is good, and there is not much to building the printer. You just need to invest the hours and dont skimp on doing the stuff prope...

Re: spongy prints with 0.35mm nozzle from SeeMeCNC

When i had results like that with my 0.5 nozzle I ignorantly concluded that i was going too fast (for my case) and as i needed speed over quality at the time, i switched to a 0.7mm nozzle, which did not help much. After some time I discovered that i had charred the ptfe tube inside the hotend which ...
