Re: How do I desolder heater terminals from my RAMBo?

put wsome solder on the tip of your iron, also you shouldnt apply heat for too long or you run the risk of damaging it

STeve's extruder broke

REcently i have been having extrusion issues with my printer, i thought it was my heater cartridge until i looked at my extruder. Part of the plastic part that holds the bearing and the bolt for the knurled part. I'll post pics soon. Any ideas on what to do short of ordering a new part?

Re: selling hot ends

I believe the thermal barrier should be stainless steel for better insulation. I'd make a prototype before you try to sell anything. If you have a printer you could always print something and sell it :) :)

no jumpers, I found the problem with the heat, the areduino was getting 12v form the ramps and caused it to get really hot. Still having issues connecting to pronterface

Re: Using RAMPS

My Ramps is coming today and I haven't the slightest Idea what to do. I have my motors rewired to hook up with the ramps, DIY endstops, but software is my weakness. Do I just load Marlin on it then connect to pronterface? are all the calibration settings in The marlin firmware?

Re: Printing with Line trimmer

Taulman's website says this about the nylon trimmer line. Can I just use plain Nylon trimmer line? Trimmer line does "look" like and contain nylon, however, trimmer line or weed-whacker line also contains various additives that are destructive and or dangerous for your 3D Printer. First, ...

Re: Printing with Line trimmer

I didn't, I used what i had around the house, I use 3mm so 2.89 mm wasn't too different. I only had square line but it worked, you CAN fit a square peg in a round hole if the peg is smaller then the hole. I managed to print a Delicate ring a thing but that was it. I Had to print slow.

I think I can overcome that, i have quite a few heatsinks from some gamecubes systems I have been modding and they have a millimeter or two of thermal compound which I think should work when positioned right
