Re: 713 maker effector and hot end mount

I have E3d's on all my printers. I like them. They are an industry standard. Please stay away from cheap clones as they will provide no end of potential issues. I get my E3D from MatterHackers. http://www.matterhackers.com/store/printer-accessories/v6-hotend-full-kit-1.75mm-universal-with-bowden Sor...

Re: 713 maker effector and hot end mount

In your yellow bag there should be four spacers.
One goes on the top of each of those accelerometer mount, then the accelerometer, then 1 more spacer on the top of the mount hole with a pos and neg attachment.

Re: 713 maker effector and hot end mount

That looks right. Usually there is a diagram to illustrate how to assemble. Let me try and get some photos for you. -edit- Actually I think you have extra parts. It looks like you bought a basic kit requesting SeeMeCNC locking ring. Red and Blue Then additionally you bought the Accelerometer Board l...

Re: Infinitely Resetting V3

I can tell that I am tripping the watchdog and entering this case statement: case 281: // Trigger watchdog #if FEATURE_WATCHDOG { Com::printInfoFLN(PSTR("Triggering watchdog. If activated, the printer will reset.")); Printer::kill(false); HAL::delayMilliseconds(200); // write output, make ...

Re: Infinitely Resetting V3

Thank you. However it is still resetting with the RAMbo board pulled from the machine. I have tested the reset button on the board with a multimeter and it is working as intended. At this point I am looking if I can compile the firmware in some kind of debug mode. My theory is somehow I am tripping ...

Re: Infinitely Resetting V3

[Communication with the board is no longer an issue. Resetting is still an issue.] After a suggestion to reinstall the firmware after doing an EPROM_CLEAR, I realize the problem might be the RAMbo itself. I can no longer upload sketches. Even the EPROM_CLEAR results with avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMes...

Infinitely Resetting V3

My V3 was working wonderfully for quite some time. Then the power wire on the HE280 came loose and I reassembled the connector. Now on boot my Rostock v3 is resetting after what looks like completing start up. I thought it was a loose wire in the HE280 connector, so I rewired that multiple times, th...

32 bit RAMBo

Last September 16th, SeeMeCNC gave a video teaser on their Facebook page of a V3 with a 32 bit RAMBo board.

Anyone know the status of it?

Re: Unreliable hotend connection

Thank you, I had not considered that other failures might cause that reading. I went with the logic that it was the only thing moving and reported. Is there a way to isolate and narrow the possible problem? Is usually print through the SD card. Do you know if such an error would log to the console i...

[Resolved] Unreliable hotend connection

I've been frustrated as I cannot resolve this no matter what I try. While printing, after about a half inch in layer height, the LCD will read "def def" for the nozzle and bed. Then the plate will continue to move for hours as the hot end cools. I have tried three of the hot ends clips tha...

Re: Improved my hot end back pressure

Hi Jim, I must not have communicated well in my first post. It was inserted into the wire whip. The only difference between reliably pushing filament through the heat break and it backing up under the end of the ptfe tube was removing the tube from the whip. I have been printing pretty non stop sinc...

Improved my hot end back pressure

I've been at my wit's end trying to solve my back pressure problem. I had resigned myself to putting in an E3D. But on Sunday morning I had an epiphany. Regardless of how much pressure I put in ensuring my ptfe tub was firmly in place, it would work loose after a while. I had rebuilt the hot end thr...

Re: Beat up Rostock on eBay

Thanks for the disuassion. I kinda have this feeling that I can fix and repair nearly anything. However I do sometimes spend more in repairs and upgrades than just buying something new. There are way too many unknowns with this abused Rostock. Thanks again everyone!

Beat up Rostock on eBay

I am in the market for a Rostock. I saw this one on eBay and it looks to me like it would be too risky and too much investment with too many unknowns.

Strange prints

Hello all, I have never seen this before. My calibration cubes were curled up on their top left corner. These were not from bed adhesion, but from a shortened corner movement. I was curious what was happening so I printed a Z tower to see what happens along the Z axis. That printed strange also. Pri...

Yup! You all are correct! Popped F3. Phew! I did recently replace the carriages and effector plate/arms. With weird, but configurable results in MatterControl. More layer fans would be a good idea, but I rarely print in PLA. Big tip though, do not clean the nozzle with a brass brush while heating. T...

New Lesson Learned

While my Orion with E3D hot end was heating up I was cleaning off the nozzle with a brass brush. I must have touched both sides of the heater cartridge with the bristles as the machine reset. Now the peek fan nor the heater work. I was not looking for a new project this weekend. I just hope I did no...
