Seeing as I live in the UK thought I'd check these guys out. Seems they are no longer supplying the Rostock Max :(

Re: Clogged Hot End?

Ah ok, have swapped the plug to the correct one and now, after restarting Repetier it dose indeed control this fan Progress lol I have done as you suggested and it seems that i have to run the fan at 50% or the temp needs to be around the 230 mark to get anything repeatable from the nozzle, does thi...

Re: Clogged Hot End?

ok at the risk of hijacking this thread, I have fitted a 25mm PEEK fan and now i am struggling to get any PLA out of the nozzle. Even with the temp set to 220 its not extruding at all. I assumed I would have to alter the material setting for temp once this was fitted, but what am I doing wrong? The ...

Re: Clogged Hot End?

If your hot end jams, disconnect the Bowden tube from it. You will find a swelling at the end of the filament. That's what causes the jam. Cut it off and reinstall. Also, don't set your hot end to 250 degrees to liquefy the PLA unless you are using an all-metal hot end. The PEEK will soften and beg...

Re: Clogged Hot End?

Where is the jam located? If it's in the nozzle, then I would suggest heating it to 250/260 for about 5 minutes to "liquefy" the PLA and you should be able to extrude again. If it's in the barrel liners, more likely, then, yes you need to pull them out and clear the jam. I find it very ra...

Re: Clogged Hot End?

I've just finally fitted my PEEK fan and first run up the PLA has frozen inside.. even at 220 deg i cant get it to budge... so I need to take it apart and take a flame to it?

I cant believe there's not a better way....

Hello from North Yorkshire, England

Been a lurker for a short while and absorbing all I can to confirm my choice of starting out with a Rostock MAX. I ended up with a bargain that has been very well put together that was too hard to resist and now am making inroads to get it set up again after a bumpy 300 mile car trip back home. So, ...
